Knowing the position was and is legal, color the pieces.. what was the last move?

Very nice one. I know the last move, but not the color of every piece. The pawn on a7 is giving me a hard time...

when i saw it, i thought it was nice too. unfortunately, i look too far on the page and saw the last move. but i'm glad i still got to color it in

I was only able to find a valid position by considering a strange sub promotion followed by a latter pawn advance... the rest fits well. This sequence would be strange, but possible. Any hints available?
