Is there any way around this? Why do I have to dedicate my CD drive to CM when I already have it loaded on my machine? If the disk is not in, the program will not start. Anything that I can do? Thanks!

Didn't you read the Chessmaster 10th Edition FAQ?

The answer is you need to install all the patches... the final patch will allow you to run without the CD. You can find the patches in the Chessmaster 10th Edition Downloads.

Unfortunately, this feature does not work with the russian version. Why?

I don't know what to tell you about that... Ubisoft made the patches for running without the CD; but the Russian patch was released by Akella... It might be better to contact them at Akella Customer Support.

I downloaded the 3 patches and installed them. The computer still prompts me for the CD after starting CM 10.

Sounds like you didn't install any one of them then


Go to "Help--About Chessmaster 10th Edition" and see if it says v1.0.3 or not.
