Would anyone be interested?
I've got the gameloft game of chess, but it's obviously amateur when compared to a Chessmaster 8000, which I assume would be easily just "converted" to work on an iPhone/ipod. There would be nothing better than a tutorial rich / ai opponent rich game on the small handhelds to play on my frequent trips to the loo or perhaps even the train ride to work. Anybody heard anything about a release possibility? |

I've heard that a Mac version is in the works; unfortunately, no release date has been set.
If I were you, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for an iPhone release... |

You know what actually would be pretty cool? If someone wrote a well-featured correspondence chess app for the current crop of smartphones, one that gave you alerts when it's your turn in a game, when a player sends you a message, or whatever. It couldn't possibly be that hard to do, and it would be nice to get "push" chess on an iphone or blackberry or windows mobile or something.

I don't know... I still wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Ubisoft...
While I really like Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition's correspondence chess, this is a large oversight... you have to log into the server in order to get messages or find out if a move has been made. Why they didn't think of e-mailing you when a move has been made is beyond me. |
