When I first started playing 10th edition a few weeks ago the AI player
would use up its clock realistically - now it plays a game in 3 seconds while I use up all my 15-20 minutes. What button am I neglecting to push? I rank about 900. Thanks,Pastor Phil |

(this is a response to all who complain about the computer and his time management)
First you all have to understand that you can't influence your opponents time. It is his bussiness if he takes all his time or if he moves instantly. Nobody tells you what to do with your time. If your opponent moves instantly, then it can't play too good, can it? (response to PhilipWSheets) It's not the same personality that moves instantly, but took its time few weeks ago, is it? All personalities below 1000 and some higher rated personalities (the highest is Vlad (around 1850)) move instantly because their maximum depth is set very low (like 2 or 3 plies). Computer calculates all 2 and 3 plies combinations in a blink of an eye, so when it's finished calculating it moves. What else is it supposed to do? Make some coffee or something? As I mentioned earlier, no instant moving personality can't play particulary strong. You can easely fool it with a 4 move combination, because it's simply out of reach for it (because of the limited depth). Just don't get yourself draged into quick play just because your opponents plays quickly. |
