I need some imformation on a good gaming mouse. I tried the X-Box Controller but didn't care for the performance so I am back to using keyboard and mouse. The mouse I am using came with the computer and is pretty lame. I have been checking out lots of ( Mice?) on the net and I am afraid I don't know much about what it takes to make a good gaming mouse. There are three that I am concidering if input is good on how they perform. 1) Razer Lachesis. 2) Razer Deathadder. 3) Logitech G9Lazer. I noticed the Lachesis has nine buttons. Are these buttons something you can add game functions too or are they wasted in game play? I just want a good performing game mouse without all the bells and whistles if they are non functioning.

Thanks for any and all that will take the time to type out their views on this subject.

Stryker.

I'm a fan of my Logitech G9. It's a right-handed mouse, but I have no problem using it left handed.

I have always preferred Logitech for gaming.

Here is a good site with user reviews.

The G9 has 453 reviews at present so you should be able to get a good idea of what positives and negatives.

There are 3 Lachesis models listed.

Thanks for the responces guys. Ordered a Logitech G9 Lazer Mouse yesterday after reading your post. Went to CNET and the G9 got good reviews along with the other ones I was checking on. I ordered the G9 because the tester said he had small hands and had a little problem with it. I have rather large hands so it should work out just fine.

It is hard to comprehend the price differences between companys. Found a price range of $47.99-$93.00. So I guess it pays to shop. I am not a big fan of online ordering but my local Best Buy didn't stock the product. I guess I will have to enter the 21st centry at one point or another.

So thanks again guys.

I hesitate buying anything from some of those really low cost sites.

I have been purchasing products and components from Newegg for many years, and have always had great service if a product is defective or there are any other problems.

This particular mouse had free guaranteed 3 day shipping, and I can always rest assured a toll free call will resolve any issue that may arise!

I also read the many user reviews on Newegg to help me make a choice in a product.
The G9 has 453 reviews so you can get a good perspective from many view points.

Sometimes the cheapest price can turn out to be the most expensive .. especially if there is a problem!

Well Lethal looks like I took a LEAP-OF-FAITH with my order. I know you have used Newegg for a long time and I appreciate the advice. I did check over the company policy about returns and such and was pleased by what I saw. I just hope it turns out they honor their commitment. I just wanted to thank you for the headsup. Burn me once shame on you. Burn me twice shame on me.

I have been using Microsoft mice for all of my computers, some are many years old and still function perfect. My work uses Microsoft and Logitech and all of the Logitech mice have developed problems over some time while the Microsoft ones are still working fine. So I have a bit more faith in Microsoft stuff than Logitech... Just from personal experience though, I'm sure some others have had different experiences...
