I voted yes, but with a special condition. We have to stay until the job is done.

Yes I believe so. It will not be however if we leave prematurely. Not only will all our gains be lost and our resources wasted, but we will have to start over from the beginning again when we are forced to go in 10 years later.

Yes. Personally, I think we've gained alot from it. We brought down Saddam Hussein and his brothers which was apart of the problem over there.

Unfortunately, I believe Iraq will be a war-torn tainted country for awhile.

I am going to take a wild guess and say he will not be using these results in his report. You can tell by the way he worded the question that he was expecting more negative responses so he can stand in front of his class to spew his anti-war BS. Too bad. That's why I don't really care to vote or make an actual comment regarding my opinion on it because I know he's not even going to look at this again. So save your breath guys.

im actually for this war. I am doing this because I do want to see what others say and not the liberally spun classes. If you dont want to post then dont. but dont think just because im a journalist that I think like the rest of the media is silly. I agree we should stay untill the job gets done, no matter the costs as they are still over there and we are still over here.

Please think before you post

My mistake then, the question itself seems to be geared toward invoking an emotional response to the whole thing. But if you say that's not the case, then I apologize. I won't try to tell you what you are thinking like some other people I know, lol.

Anyway, my opinion is that I believe it is a good thing to get rid of a monster like Saddam Hussein and his brothers and to bring democracy and freedom of choice to these people, but honestly, I don't really believe that the USA should have to go everywhere and help everyone like we do because it never gets appreciated. I don't think there is a single country out there that has given more in terms of money, man power, military assistance, etc. etc. than the USA, but no matter what we do, everyone will criticize us that we are not giving enough, or that we have some other motive, or that we didn't give fast enough, etc. etc.

And even when things are improving, like right now in Iraq, the news will refuse to report that, then you get AP photoshopping photos and falsifying reports that just makes the job harder for us. And what I also don't understand is why all of these Muslims from neighboring countries are hindering efforts to rebuild their fellow Muslim country Iraq? They should let us stabilize the country so we can get the heck out of there, but all of these outside forces are making things harder. But I think in the end, it will all be worth it in terms of the benefits of freedom from the tyrany of Saddam Hussein all of these years. But the type of government they choose to have could be something other than democracy and it might work better for them, who knows. Our cultures are very different.

ill give you that it does seem a little negative. Im trying to stay unbiased, but it really is hard. I should have prhased it as do you think the war has been and still is worth the costs? As for the rest, Sadam's right hand man was a dude named "Chemical Ali" if that doesent say something.

With Photoshop, they either edit it or the picture isn't even from the Iraq war. One thing that suprises me is most of the reporters in Iraq never leave the Green Zone and never see the bruning cars or the bombed buildings, they get the feed from locals or soldiers and butcher the film strip.

I dont want us to forget there are people over there and so I factor in the human losses. If youve ever been to Arlington, you will hear the 21 gun salute all day long, and yet the tourists keep walking around smiling because they dont see the people in the caskets. Above all it is a cemetary and people should think of it as that not a merry walk in a rockstrewn park.

I think this war has cost us alot, but we are fighting on foreighn soil instead of ours, we have collapsed a tyranical government, we have at least tried to improve the Iraqi's way of living, and we have shown that the people support the soldiers, and we are past the Vietnam era of hatred twards the armed forces.

i fully support the war and all our men and women in uniform out there...everyone on the left said this could have been solved through diplomacy.....i only wish that was true. people dying is not a good thing but sometimes its a neccesary evil. i also gotta say those who purposly demoralize our soldiers should be sent to iraq in a hotzone with a pistol and no armor and no one to protect them. im sorry i got off topic its just i live in doveland and am sick of the anti american soldier sentiment

So what are all these elections that are being held over there? What about all the schools, roads, power grids that we are building?

And there is nothing "illegal" about the war. We broke no laws.

LMAO, yah, don't forget all of those mass graves we found we really didn't find, it was just make-believe mass graves they dug for those "what if we gassed and killed people by the thousands" scenarios the Iraqi's drilled every ten years or so, lol.

I love how he put tyrannical government in quotes as if it weren't true. And I also love how some people think they are "supporting the troops" by voting against funding them...

They know if they said anything against the troops that would look bad for them. It's "politically incorrect" as they say. That's the ONLY reason why they keep repeating that they support our troops when in their minds they imagine the US military man to be some gung-ho uneducated idiot running around cutting off peoples' heads for no reason.

No you are not supporting our troops by trying to cut our funding. No you're not supporting our troops by telling us that what we're fighting for is not just even though we see the exact opposite with our own eyes while we're over there, no you're not supporting our troops by being completely negative about our accomplishments over there and completely ignoring all that is improving.

So stop BS'ing us with your **** and just come out and say that you hate the military just as much as you hate the current government. I can't wait to finally meet one of you liberals with the balls to just come out and say it. You all give us the same rhetoric, bashing the military and then going "oh, but I support the troops." GROW SOME BALLS AND JUST ADMIT THAT YOU DON'T. Geez, seriously...

I wonder how he will react when his country calls upon his services if there ever is a draft. We'll see who is a true patriot then.

I hear it all the time at the fricken left winged school that I attend: "I don't want to be forced to fight in a war that I don't believe in." ****ing pisses me off. Move to China, please.

No, they never attacked us, but they did attack one of our allies and then subsequently surrendered and agreed to follow our terms in exchange for peace. When Saddan decided not to follow the terms he agreed to, he shouldn't have expected to be able to get away with it forever. Clinton might have put up with it, but government changes all the time in this country and Saddam should've have realized that if he didn't want his country to be invaded. I am of the opinion that we should've finished the job the first time, but we probably didn't because the first Bush administration decided to leave him in power to keep Iran in check.
