I found this thread after loading RVS and having bad stutter problems. Setting HardwareTL to false solved that problem but since doing that I've had a slew of general protection faults which crash me to my desktop. Anyone else had that happen?
Here's the error: OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600) CPU: AuthenticAMD Unknown processor @ 2615 MHz with 2046MB RAM Video: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS (6218) General protection fault! History: FD3DRenderInterface: It's happened on a couple of different maps after playing for about 2 or 3 minutes. |

I get the exact same GPF crash.

Nice to know I'm not the only one but I'm sorry it's happening to you too, losthazard.
I recently reinstalled xp and the very first thing I did was install nforce4 chipset drivers, graphics drivers (162.18) and then raven shield and the all the problems were exactly the same. So far I've used 2 different driver versions, I've tried both raven shield 1.0 and 1.60 with and without Athena sword installed and patched and I've tried it with and without amd dual core optimizer and cpu drivers installed. Nothing I've done has fixed either the stutters with hardwaretl true or the gpf crashes with hardwaretl false. My system is 100% stable and raven shield is the only game I've ever had problems with after getting my 8800. I've officially given up until Nvidia fixes their drivers, if they ever do. |

xerkon, Im exact with our opinion.
I have got a X2-4600 and 8800TGS and hav the same issue. Letz hope NVIDIA next drivers fix this problems with UT2 engine games as RVS. |

Hey guys i also got the problem u have.
Seems this error only has to do with UseHardwareTL=False, which also is the issue with the struggling fps. Does any of you guys know when the newest 8800 drives are released? |

I have 163.71 installed right now but haven't tried them yet with Raven Shield.

Def. my problem. Doesn't work for SWAT4 though, to many artifacts, so the final solution, buy a HD3870

Hi,
I don't know if you guys have still the problem, but i think i have found the solution. I had a problem with my intel dual core with 8600 card and it also jitter my intro screen. I have installed an update from microsoft, and it worked. Link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyI...FCE3B&displaylang=en Cya and have fun |

OMG, it finally has happened.. Hell has frozen over!
I just tested the latest set of 175.19 NVIDIA XP drivers and I can confirm that NVIDIA has finally released a set of drivers which at least in my case have no jittering or any problems in RvS! I am still using the same 8800GTX 768MB card and the same setup as I have mentioned at the first post of this topic and now this game runs fine with the ini settings UseHardwareTL=True and MaxPixelShaderVersion=255. It didnt take long for the big green to release a set of working drivers for the 8x00 and never cards to play the Unreal 2 engine based games in XP.. Well better late than ever I gues GG's everyone!
