Anybody here that played this game in 2003 still play?

I havent played since the Athena Sword days when the game was getting too buggE to be playable. Came back for 1.6 patch & was happy to see a lot of issues fixed, but then I was getting kicked for a crouch binding I had! [lower posture|raise posture]....so I threw in the towel.


Lately, I've been playing GRAW on the MP side, waiting for the GRAW2 release (with my fingers crossed)

Not played RVS for years,Been playing ARMA,and GRAW2 on Xbox360..but thats all due to terrible arthritis in my fingers.

i still play raven shield, but it wont work.

I'm hooked on Stalker.

'Haven't played Raven Shield for years now; Gave up on (Truthfully, I enjoyed the demo more than the actual retail version)

I even reinstalled it a couple years back, but I just couldn't get back into the swing of enjoying it. It was still buggy, and was an overall unenjoyable experience

In fact, I think I might have sold my copy awhile ago (That or it's tucked away somewhere where I can't find it)

Its the HLF2 engine Demon, thats why its so good. I said this in another post and I'll say it again. CS:S, Counterstrike: Source, is the closes thing to the orignal R6 games.

RVS is still live and kickin guys ...... atleast on a few servers. lol TAT plays COOP daily and we get some run n gun team survival going alot also .... maybe 4 days a week. We have also been having a "throw back" gaming and drinkin night called "Thirsty Thursday" We are actually playing the first UT .... using all the cool mods we can find. Anyways I ramble ...ya'll be good and gg's to all.

I started playing Way back when Rogue SPear was popular. Used to host 16 (mostly T.A.T. clan) on MSN zone since I was the few who had a 7Mps/768bps ADSL line. That was followed by Urban Ops with the BSW mod. Great times. Would play for hours into the wee hours of the morning when I was off from work. Things started to fall apart when RVS came out. Buggy game to say the least. The Linux server --which was promised on the retail box-- was never delivered. I took up BF2 for a while. Another buggy game released by EA.

I'm strictly a Linux user at this point in my life. Last couple of years I have been playing a game called True Combat: Elite. A truly cross platform tactical shooter (Windows, Mac, Linux) that is 100% free. Better graphics than RVS, e.g., HDR lighting, hi res textures, and true wide screen gaming --yet still runs fine on older hardware if you set the options accordingly. No cross hairs, all iron sights w/ some weapons that have scopes. The game is 100% free, including the 3D engine it is based on -- nothing to lose if you want to try it out: http://www.truecombatelite.net/index.php

Game is only .049b right now, but the developers are very receptive to community input.

What sucks about TC:E? The gameplay is a bit fast-- not CS fast, but still faster than any Tom Clancy game I have played. There is jumping; ugh. No limping when wounded as well...

BUT!!! The main developer has been very interested in making them game a bit like a TRUE tactical shooter via a mini mod. I voiced my opinion in this thread: http://www.truecombatelite.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7457&start=30

So, if any of you would like to give this game a whirl, PLEASE DO. It's 100% free! Give them feedback! Post your opinion as to why the game --or the aforementioned mini mod-- should be more RVS/Urban Ops like. They would love to hear from tactical gamers. I think if more than a few posted an intelligent reply, they would be very receptive.

I need to upgrade my PC in order to play anything more recent. I managed to play BF 2142 but the MP mode with the Titan was so laggy it was nearly unplayable.

I run a co-op terr. hunt server, typically Friday and Saturday nights after 7pm Atlantic. Dr. B's Emergency Room, or Static Purgatory.

Project Reality for Battlefield 2 is pretty darn cool too, been playing that a lot lately...

I'm currently considering investing in a custom rig that's capable of playing Starcraft 2 (Looks SO damn good!)
