So I'm seriously considering installing bumper guides on my 1994 Dodge Ram 1500. What do you guys think?
Here is my truck: And for those of you who don't know what bumper guides are: They are the poles you see on the corners of trucks that have the amber light on top. You guys think it would look cool on my truck or should I just keep it the way it is. -Rage Forum Addict "Ever ready, ever willing, to protect life and property." ----------------------------------------------------- Former Ubisoft Moderator of 5 years. |

If you have a use for them, I say go ahead. On the other hand, if it's purely an aesthetic choice I personally wouldn't.

I don't really have a particular use for them, I would basically be doing it for looks.

For looks?
You really want it to look gay? Your truck isnt lifted... Doesnt look like anything but stock tires... nothing special added that would change the stock dimensions of it... are you short enough you cant see the area around the vehicle when you drive? Just my thoughts. Only peole I ever saw with them were barely capable of parking their trucks and got them because they didnt want to hit anything. Simple solution is.... learn to drive/park the vehicle. Again... this is just my opinion but never thought they looked remotely good on a truck. |

Not sure how good some poles on your bumper looks...

Maybe I should save the $80 or maybe get something else for my truck.

I would recommend a rocket launcher |

How about dual mounted 50 cals on the roof?

forward mounted? Or would you put them on a swivel? |

Well, if I had some money, I'd wire them up so I can control them with a joystick in the cab. Then I'll put a TOW missile launcher in the bed. Yyyyyyeah.

Onlything bad with the TOW is you have to track the target.... meaning more money for the incorporation into the Cab of the truck or let someone else shoot/guide the missile for you. Where is the fun in that?
And my previous 'gay' comment on the bumper rods... Man, I have never seen a truck that I thought looked good with them. I see the usefulness of them (moving in small areas) but not for looks. Maybe it is just where I live |

I see what you are saying though. They look good on certain trucks, IMO. I think for them to look good I would have to have a more customized look to my truck. My truck just looks too stock, not that anything is wrong with that.

I have to agree with Guidon here, how do two sticks on your bumper look good on ANY truck? They are definitely for utility, not looks...
Edit: Now if you're talking about grill guards on a truck, now those have utility AND good looks... ______________________________________________ "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." - Edmund Burke "It's better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for who you're not." - Anonymous "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is." - William J.
