The sad thing is he'll probably get away without so much as a slap on the wrist. He won't even lose his right to own a gun. And they blame gun violence on teens with the strict gun laws but the loosely defined (or taken lightly) rights to kill.

I love how your avatar says "FREEDOM", yet you yourself are advocating that although, subtly, that this man should lose his right to bear arms and defend himself ( or his neighbors ).

Wow, is THAT ever a silly rant. Gun violence involving teens, such as Columbine, happened in a State where legal purchase of a firearm wasn't possible until the age of 18, and THAT was in a retail outlet. Legal purchase of a firearm at a gunshow, like the one those boys purchased their firearms, was limited to people 21 or over. Yet, they STILL ended up in the hands of 16-year-old kids.

If the people this old guy shot are ruled to have posed a threat to his property, in Texas, when they were shot. The old man acted properly, and within the law. I agree with Rogue Spear...you might consider taking that "freedom" thing out of your avatar. In the US, according to our freedom, we are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Let the courts determine whether or not he acted within the laws of Texas.

If he gets away without a slap on the wrists that only means what he did was perfectly within his rights.. right along with his right to own a gun Roll Eyes
And yeah, the freedom avatar is pretty much the definition of irony since you seem to be so quick on taking away someone's rights Indifferent

No no no, you guys aren't getting it. His freedom icon is for criminal freedoms. You know, the freedom for anyone to go and rob people at gun point, rape, murder, etc. etc. I'm sure he's all for the rights of prisoners and other criminals while he wants to take away the rights of regular citizens. So it's still freedom, just for a different group. So there's no irony at all! Veryhappy

This man (the one who did the shooting) is a hero. I hope he gets off with a slap on the wrist, because he just did what he thought was right. He felt threatened and defended himself. Why are people so fast to blame not the criminals but the innocent bystanders? Maybe it should be illegal to get raped or robbed from because the person obviously did something wrong to have that happen to them. Stop passing judgment on people who acted well within their rights.
