G4TV when reviewing this game said there seems to be an invisible wall when you first see troops in the distance and you cannot seem to hit them no matter what until you seem to get in range. I am not sure about this on PC but on PS3 this was a major let down to them. Is this true for PS3 users, can you only shoot people when you finally come within range of them. If they are all the way across the map and you have them targeted with a gun can you kill them? This really seemed to be a major turn off to me..

Can anyone on PS3 confirm or Deny this?

I do see a lot of people here really love the game which is making me want to buy it. But if this rumor is true and you cant shoot someone until you are within the WALL RANGE.

The video I am refering to can be seen here.

I would imagine each gun has a range....as is normal with most projectiles, you're talking gravity vs velocity and the bullets travel in an arc... It would be disappointing if you can't angle the trajectory in order to compensate for arc, but in the very least, I hope that just because you have a gun, doesn't mean you can shoot further and more accurately than any gun ever made

no,no thtas only in the demo section where they are loading the nectar, and you cant kill them, cause its showing that they are stealing the nectar, or else with both of my machine guns, (the rebel and the mantel, i can shoot people when i see them..

ya I noticed it once but the guy was wayyyy far off and I was using a machine gun...with the sniper though I've hit tiny specs on double zoom from across the whole map so maybe it's a gun range thing... I don't shoot at people who are real far anyway so they can move 2 feet around a corner where I can't see them and give someone else an easy kill cuz i took half their health and couldn't finish 'em... With 16 people you should never have to chase a guy a mile in front of u... odds are there's someone closer behind you... that's how alot of guys took it in the back in Resistance and how alot of troopers will get their nectar shot in Haze.

I think I may have noticed it once, but I really didn't think much about it. The only reason I did is because a review or two mentioned it. If I hadn't known about it to begin with, I would probably have not noticed it.

All I have to say, is that's its really unnoticeable and not a big deal at all. Hell, it's not even a little deal.

i think it had the same thing as rfom, where bullets simply dissapear after a certain distance. its sad, but a growing trend.

im more worried about the moments where people seem invincible, like during the od animation, and during play dead animation.

oh yeah, remember when they said you couldnt kill someone playing dead? yeah, shoot the ground where they fell for a few seconds and notice how you obviously can. easily. you can even tell if youre hitting them because the bullet strike will look like it does when youve shot someone, instead of what it would look like if you were shooting the ground. it takes a few more bullets than normal, but its definitely possible. its ok though, because being able to play dead is wayyyyy to easily abused

Well onlly when they were stealing nector did I have this problem cause its in the story and if you kill them before they steal all the nector when he says "they stole our meds so whats the use" you would say, no they didn't I killed them before.

Actually, it's true, if you're using an assault rifle, at some point, but it is a very very far point, and you'd be lucky if you could get a clean shot that far down, but I did notice it ONCE, in the campaign. However, with a sniper rifle I have found no target too far.

yep at the beginning when some rebels are moving some nectar crates. if you shoot at them nothing happen until they stop doing what they do and come at you, then it works. I dont think its distance related, its more like a lock in animation where you cant interfere with.

Its down to individual ability, lets face it. No problems with range using sniper rifles. This game is an honest 8/10,very close to cod4. Buy it!

Sadly, it is true. No matter what losers will say about 'u suk uber at aiming' and what not, it's true.

I notice it ALL the time in MP. As mantel you have the range advantage in HAZE, as Rebels you have the close combat advantage.

One example, I had a rebel trooper on the Tower in Shanty Town and was aiming at his head on nectar. I let off an entire clip at him, obviously they weren't all head shots but most actually were dead on head shots... he wasn't even feeling them.

You see what FRD did was, when you shoot someone they move. If someone is shot in the leg, they kneel. You shoot someone in the shoulder, they lean back, etc.

This guy was standing upright, perfectly still shooting at others with his sniper rifle killing many of my team-mates but, even with the range of being on nectar the bullets were not reaching him at all.

This was disappointing to me because I used to play COD4 all the time. The long-range hit accuracy is incredible compared to HAZE, but COD4 is in it's own bracket though.

Believe it or not, this Issue is Confirmed, 100%. Wink

Cheers!

Untrue, big time, I'll get a camera or a video up of me disproving this easily by doing what you say is impossible-which I have done tons of times-oh and by the way, I'm on to you. We had someone like you on the GTAIV forums, so if you start trouble, the mods won't be the only ones keeping tabs. I know a troll when I see one especially when you add up your name is

'haze-addict2008' yet you are putting down the game. This is not only ironic, but a sign of trolling. So as a fair warning-watch your words, not sounding intimidating but seriously. Watch your words. It is also funny how you bring up COD4 like many nauseatingly narrow reviewers (not saying all people who review it poorly are idiots, they better have a bloody good reason though.) anywhom, keeep HAZE away from COD4 in comparison, COD4 to me is just COD2 prepped and pretty to go out to prom for a one night stand. HAZE is the stag, cool in its own right and not standing with anyone-it is a game on its own-but in no way a genre definer or turn point in FPS's. However, I do plan on playing it long after June 12th unlike a lot of people.

Post these videos Mr. Know it all, I'd like to watch them because I got HAZE as soon as it was ready and ever since, I've noticed it happening.

Secondly for those weak at mind, like yourself, how am I 'bashing' HAZE? Stating something I've noticed isn't 'bashing', kiddo. Learn to comprehend what you read, lol...

Thirdly, by stating my disappointment coming from one game with amazing hit accuracy then going to the next with decent hit accuracy all the sudden I'm comparing COD4 game to HAZE game?

You must wear a helmet kid, I was comparing the hit accuracy, not the game. Hammer I stated COD4 was in it's own bracket as well. Again, you damn fool, learn to comprehend what you read. Hammer

Another thing, if you're going to try and thrash my post by claiming I'm what you call a 'troll' (whatever the hell that is), you should check my previous posts before being stupid and jumping at me about something this idiotic.

I gave HAZE a 7.5 on my review which was done probably before you even had your copy. In addition to your 'troll' comment, I've been registered here since April, you've only JUST registered on Friday... lol. Now, all the sudden I'm a fake, lol. That was some outrageous and blatant stupidity on your part, man.

Congratulations, way to make your FOURTH( Roll Eyes )post a moronic one. Hammer hahahaha....

Cheers, everyone!

Excuse me? I'm sorry if I came off offensive, but in what right do you have to do use name calling in a rebuttle, or did I accidently hit a nerve? I apologize. But regardless, I'm just being cautious as someone named GTAddictForever was spamming the GTAIV boards with 'GTAIV sucks' threads and flaming the game-and those who liked it. So I'm utterly sorry for thinking you were going to be like that, however flaunting age of accounts also shows kind of a desperation in trying to for a comeback.

Lastly, overuse of smilies to get your point across in a comical to some, offensive to most manner. But all-in-all, I'm sorry. But I do have to say, I've sniped a rebel a good distance away during nectar mode with a BlackSaw and it hit, luck I guess?

I was trying to strike one with you actually. Too Happy All that aside...

How far were you from the rebel? I was about a half of the map away. If you can see the person, and have a decently ranged weapon, you should be able to pick people off from a far or atleast damage them.

Being an un-biased person, I've looked at other reasons for this to occur. I had at first thought it was lag from either my connection or Demonware. Even then he would still take the damage, it would just be delayed. Wink2

Cheers!
