i can't decide on who i hate more after playing the the game.. War is f***** up. There really is no right side is there?

Seriously though, Merino is a worse hypocrite than Chris Crocker. I honestly wanted to kill him on so many occasions it wasn't funny. I wanted to stay with Mantel, but unfortunately I couldn't.

Mannnn!!!, i thought Merino was the savoir ... intell the end, what a hypocrite, i hate him and now like Duvall cause of the truth exposed, but like what Klixx said...they both fought for what they thought was right.

I thought they were both great people. But I like Merino better, he has a tight grip on reality.

Lots of different ways you could look at this

Um, you should change the first post to say "Possible spoiler!" because you don't know about that stuff till the ending. Like, in saying that he's a hypocrite. Because all the movies hint that mantel is eeeevil.

i hate duvall more

Simple: I hate Merino.

Duvall was a stupid, drugged up, **** waving idiot. But when the Nectar got cut off, he knew what he'd done. At the end, he begs you not to tell his mom, he's ashamed of what he's done. It doesn't make up for it, but at least he knows that what he did was horrible.

Merino? He just always felt he was in the right. He didn't have the excuse of Nectar running through his veins to let him spew all the nonsense Duvall did. Plus at the end, even with all of his "get rid of nectar!" spiel, he goes and says "Yay! Now we can use nectar!"

At least Duvall believed in what he told people, Merino just said it to get them to follow him.

Well, Duvall is the only one insane enough to cut someone's finger off.

Duvall is more crazy and mean compare to Merino.
That's why I hate duvall more. Well, the ending is bad... and where's the handsome guy in the old trailers? He didn't apper in the game!

I dislike Merino the most.

Duvall was crazy, agressive and violent because he was on Nectar all the time. He was also much younger so he was probably scared of dying, but he still needed to follow the gang and be tough since thats how it is when you're younger.

Merino on the other hand is a real faker. I never understood why he really did the army when Mantel was just there to burn some plants. The war probably started because they prevented Mantel since Merino wanted to make his own powerful army. Like what he says in the end, he was probably planning it for a long time but never said it to use Shane. He just presuade him to betray Mantel.

the real bad guy is mantel killing off inocent civilians to destroy the plant that makes nector, just to keep out of the publics hand. duvall was just following orders, believing what his bosses told him. murieno who was trying to protect his people but secretly wanted the nector for himself. so both duvall and murieno had their evil but in the best intention sides. you gotta take the good with the bad some time. so you cant really take sides for either.

Who do you hate more from WWII? Aldof Hitler, Emperor Hirohito, or Pres. Roosevelt. I suppose it would depend who you feel sees things the way you do.

Being just 2 months out of the US Army (and happier), I see Merino as the Bin Laden of the story. I suppose you could sympathize with his "plight". In the end he is just as cutthroat as Mantel leaders. He lies to you and others to get his agenda accomplished. Manipulating and sacrificing his followers.

Duvall, just another Nazi. Hitler gave his soldiers drugs in their ration packs to make them meaner. Methamphetamines can do that for ya I guess. The difference here is Mantel soldiers are babied on the battlefield and kept sheltered from the "horrors of war". But, they know they kill people, and that bodies don't just disappear. So it was my feeling that he enjoyed killing people and would have without Nectar. Nectar Just mad it more fun for him. If not for Mantel he would be probably be working for, with or even leading The Promised Had eventually if he hadn't ended up in jail for some string of grizzly murders.
