The best part so far of the game is the way when you take Nectar. Indeed I like the kind of flashback or how to call it on the screen and the "whoooof" sound that it makes. Aswell when you start hearing the heart beat faster. It really feels like you're taking some kind of strong "drugs" and you really get the feeling that you're stronger, faster and more alert in the game. I notice from the start when I played with my friend that he didn't use Nectar. I convinced him to try Nectar and after a while I saw he automaticly took a full dose when he notice there were Rebels around. Free Radical really made the use of Nectar as a Mantel trooper fun. You never get tired of it. I really hope you get the same feeling when you play a Rebel when using Nectar against the Mantel troopers. |

so i finally beat the demo on hard without using nectar. man was that hard...it involved lots of running back a lot to heal

lol, wondered how long it would take for someone to do it, congrats. Maybe use Nectar in the full game though.

My only worry is that the demo seemed to be reeeaalllyyy dependent on Nectar. Like yeah I know its a major part of the game but I used it every battle and at the end of the mission I had 5 left. I just dont want it to be an overused kind of thing...

That's because Mantel are reeeaalllyyy dependent on Nectar. When you join the Promise Hand you'll never use it again. At least, not on yourself.

robwarrior, no double or triple posting please, it spams up the forum and it's unnecessary - use the EDIT button next time.

I thought the demo was very good. The frame rate is solid, which is most important. Some of the environment's textures lack detail or appear flat, but the character models are nice.
Other than that, the demo was way too short to reach any conclusion. |

Loved the demo and I can't wait for the full game, but their are some minor things that I think would make the game more exciting.
For example, melee attacks just feel weak (besides the enemy flying 20 feet) I like in COD4 when you use your knife you sort of lunge forward and the screen shakes, it just makes the attack feel more forceful. On the same note I think when you juice up on nector there should be a short guitar riff or something to give you the feeling of becoming more powerful. I did notice something I like though. When I crouch and crawl up next to a log you automatically crouch lower so the log can cover you completely. Kudos for that. Oh, and being able to skip the cutscenes would be awesome. On your fifth playthrough you kinda get tired of watching them. |

ive played through it about 30 times now, and just today noticed a massive flaw. theres situations where its actualy beneficial to overdose yourself.
when you OD, theres no muzzle climb. this in tandem with the fact that the game shoots for you makes it retardedly easy to aim. this may not sound like much, but in the hands of a really good player, it could in itself unbalance the multiplayer. think of this. at the beginning of the match, 2 or 3 guys fan out and OD themselves. if these players are worth their weight, they could potentially decimate an entire team by turning the troopers biigest weakness into their biggest advantage. considering that you still have control over reloading and switching weapons while in OD mode, the only consideration youd need to take is to make sure you dont kill your teamates, which would only be a serious problem if youre playing with people you dont know. this could very well be fixed in the final build of the game, and i hope it is. i mean, this is one of those exploits id love to use, but id rather it not be present at all. if you havent tried this out, give it a shot. ive been playing the demo in nothing but od mode, and its twice as easy once ou get the hang of it. anyway, 1 week left. |

your mom played it through 30 times.

Not a bad strategy, but still, the Promise Hand are gonna hear you firing off constantly from a distance and either wait it out or just creep in from some direction you're not looking at. The stream of bullets will be rather telling Edited for addition: The auto aim isn't that much of an assist either. It's great if you're already on a target, but it's not going to get a target far from your cross hairs. Considering almost everything turns black, it'll be harder to get the cursor directly on them to take advantage of the auto-aim anyway. Still, I love the demo, I'm gonna have to go back and check out that whispers thing someone else mentioned...somewhere. -Aaron, glad his headache is gone |

@ RE Facade. Like you say, it's possibly been fixed anyway, but I would have thought the slow down of movement control would make aiming at a fast moving/rolling target pretty difficult in OD. A well placed grenade or sniper shot would also probably sort you out. It's difficult to tell without having played PH rebels anyway, but I'll give it a try.

This is my first post and i have to say i liked this game. I think the "less than perfect graphics actually compliment the game. It was a surreal experience and with the combo of paste-like graphics and the nectar boost and whatnot it made for an intense, in-the-middle-of-a-firefight feel. Also apparently in earlier post it was mentioned that for mantel soldiers the blood and whatnot was toned down by nectar. I beat the demo on hard like 6 times. While i did find the game pretty easy what I'm looking forward to is the online play. On another note i can see why people are complaining, and its not the company's fault. It's places like IGN which give ungodly screenshots, (UT3...cough...cough) and it gives a false impression. The people that hated the graphics should play the demo again and try to see what I'm saying. If nothing else appreciate the message the game delivers. While PMC's are not a bad thing, this game does show how heresy, gossip, the media, and other forms of communication are used to influence people in ways of belief that are not necessarily true. So for all its worth this is a great game. My PSN id is Tallstick, add me if you want to. For anyone who thinks im just an opinionated noob join me on RSV2, CoD4, Resistance, Team Fortress, UT3, Warhawk, or even timeshift for that matter and be prepared to be pwned. With no mercy.
