It was downed to 30 I saw at play.com live it goes down to around 25 when theres loads of action though like grenades going off an people shooting at you all at the same time

Games don't affect kids coz if pacman affected the last generation of kids most teens would have a pizza face and munch loads of pills

The devs have always said they're aiming for 30fps.

It may have been 25-30fps at play.com, but that was a different build and often the frame-rate is imporved towards the final release date, so hopefully we'll get a solid 30fps. The recent previews either didn't mention the frame-rate, (ie, it's fine), or said that it was much better than previous builds.

According to my calculations Cool the Haze Co-op demo should hit PSN on the 1st or 8th of May. This is because the PS Store updates every Thursday and the 1st and 8th of May are Thursdays Big Grin and the Thursday after that is the 15th and that isn't early March Party Hat I think it will come out on the 1st of May, what about you? Blink

Sorry for being a little off topic but which is better? Higher or lower FPS?

Well in a previous thread, ajapam34 said that the human eye can't differentiate between 30 fps or higher. The higher the fps the better the sense of speed we achieve. So yea higher is better. But a stable s decent amount is best, just like what FRD are trying to do now. Lock it in at a stable, constant 30 fps.

Maybe...It sounds reasonable. 2 weeks before release sounds good.

The human eye can of course recognise 60fps, otherwise developers wouldn't make 60fps games. 30fps or higher is preferred in games, but as long as it's around this mark the stability of the frame-rate is more important than the fps. For reference, films/movies run at 24fps, but they're far smoother since it's showing images of real objects/motion, not virtual graphics/animation.

Not recognize, differentiate. What i mean is 30 fps for the human eye is the terminal velocity of our eyesight. Wink

No, 30 fps is not the most an eye can differentiate.

Actually, there's no set exact framerate, seeing as how the human eye doesn't see things in "frames". 24 fps looks perfectly smooth in movies, but that due to effects like motion-blur and stuff. 30 fps is what some would consider to be the minimum acceptable framerate for shooters. Since Haze isn't that fast-paced (a la Unreal Tournament III), I guess it won't be too bad for the average person. I would've much preferred a solid 60 fps, but I can live with 30.

I haven't seen a specific date for Australia/NZ, so I can't say, sorry. Did you get Vegas 2 at a similar time to the US/Europe? If this is the case then I would expect the same to happen with Haze.

Just as an FYI, as the Haze demo should arrive on the usual Thursday dates for PSN, (European Store), I expect the Haze demo to arrive on probably the 1st, 8th or 15th of May. Any later won't be 'early May', or early enough to promote Haze which arrives 20-23rd of May, so I expect it probably the 1st or 8th, but that's just me.
