...That most of the other gaming sites are teeming with people who really really dislike this game? I haven't been to one message board in which there wasn't thirteen Haze-hate threads on the front page. And it's not like they're hating for the sake of it, they actually played the demo and said they honestly didn't like it at all.
Are they aware of the fact that there is a large population of people who have no support for Haze? I'm not saying I hate it, no way, but it's like an epidemic across the internet. |

Ignore them. If you love haze, then thats all that counts.

Um yeah theres like 40 million haters for every game before it even comes out. Sorry, but 3 quarters of the people on forums are whiney fools who need to vent their little lame frustrations through complaints about video games.

Most of the hate, is literally bred by ignorance. Seriously. Every naysayer, every whiner...I swear to you, every single one of them has done zero research into what Haze is about. They assume it's just Sony/Ubi/FRD's attempt to carve into the Halo/CoD4 scene. And, really, I don't think FRD gives a flying rats a$$ about those numbers, imo. Sure, they'd love to get even some of the sales that those two games garnered, but the truth is Haze is a different beast. It's an FPS yes...but it's an FPS that's really working towards immersion. Whereas, CoD and Halo aren't necessarily known for that. Additionally, the 'glitches' and oddities that the ignorant point out, aren't glitches or malfunctioning code. Once you read up on Nectar, Mantel, PH, and the like, you begin to understand a bit more about what to expect in the game, and what to not expect. Blood, as a Mantel trooper for example.
It really really irks me, when someone who claims to be a journalist or a dedicated reviewer etc...takes one look at Haze, and thinks they know everything about it immediately. And as for the Sony Shooter forums. Meh, I lost interest, I was vocal there for awhile, but Sony's site is run by idiots. Morne |

After seeing all the sad comments on, for example gametrailers, so have I decided to just lie down and ignore the haters and just spend my time chatting with those that are interested with Haze like I am. It makes me more positive and happier on buying it instead of hearing all the negative comments. Even though its just opinions, upon opinions and more opinions. No. I've heard enough of them and rather listen to the good opinions on Haze.

Why would you care what others think? |

I say that we all just keep an open mind untill the game drops. Then all the Hardcore FPS players can get into the online scene to test wether this game is a winner. Lets think positive and forget about the conjecture on other forums.

Most of the hate i've seen is from xbox users who think haze is tring to be like halo, just because the name is similar. Haze is a completly different game. Besides did anyone notice the message that pops up the actual game will be even better then the demo so don't listen to haters.

What i hate most is the 360 fanboys who whine about Haze being a Halo copy and wannabe.. i just laugh everytime..

There are always people who hate any game, and why they do doesn't have to have anything to do with reality. Many people jumped on a 'Sony exclusive' hype train last year. The subsequent delay annoyed a lot of people who were expecting a big 'Sony' shooter at Christmas, and they seem to have been disappointed again when the Haze demo didn't demonstrate Crysis-like levels of graphics. Well poor them for having their deluded fanboy dreams shattered. If they choose to now expend energy hating a game they've still never played more than five minutes of, (and I can't think of a demo available that shows less of the final game than Haze'), more fool them.
Personally I live in the real world, and although I wasn't astounded by the graphics in the demo, the gameplay was certainly good enough for me. |

It's a good question, many people swore up and down that Call of Duty 4 was pure innovation in almost every sense of the word. It was really just another shooter, it just looked and played nicer than the others. Besides, what all is there left to do? If you only include commercial games in your definition of what counts towards innovation, there's very little. If you count user-made mods/games/etc. then the pool shrinks by quite a bit. I remember people going on and on about some game that came out a few years ago that had an RTS/FPS blend. They went on about how innovative it was, how no game had ever attempted such a thing...guess all those hours of Natural Selection (an FPS/RTS hybrid) that I played a year or two before that were all in my head. People are willing to claim whatever they want is innovative, usually ignoring whatever games came before it. Some are actually ignorant of the games that came out, others just try to act like they're cool for not doing their homework. Either way, it really comes down to individuals and their odd claims. Personally, I think Nectar is a neat little addition, not really "innovative" in the most literal sense of the word, but it makes the game different. I remember plenty of other games that gave me all kinds of super powers (like...Darkwatch, I think it was? Vampire cowboys and whatnot) and I rarely used the things. Haze makes me go "Ok, Nectar is important here! I'd better use it!" Well, that's my opinion anyway. -Aaron, wonders if anyone will read through that mess |
