So no answer to my question as to how the Bee theme might be incorporated into gameplay or storyline besides the obvious nectar thing. An example of this might be if the the soldiers were negatively effected by smoke?(since bee's are)

But would that make any sense in the context of reality? You might as well expect them to like pretty flowers and extrude honey from where the sun don't shine. Perhaps the bee idea is simply a visual/design theme that FRD found convenient rather than anything further than that, but seeing as it is quite integrated into Mantel, chances are we won't ever know until we finish the game... |

I think I discovered a gap in the story. (Wow and you even didn't play it
If the mantel troopers wear the visor that filters the things they see, how can you explain that they don't figure out it's not reality when they are not fighting in some war? I mean when a mantel trooper comes home from work (probably killing), why he doesn't see any fog or the difference when he takes his helmet off? They wear it even at home or what? What if he want's to eat? Even on the battlefield they must eat something and take off the helmet. This needs to be explained! "Music is Magic. Magic is Life" |

If the visor works in conjunction with Nectar, which it almost certainly does, then when they stop using Nectar, (as you would on returning to base), the effect should stop. It also seems to be microprocessor controlled to an extent, (see the HUD re-booting in the video demo), in which case the effect could be turned off, or even altered on the fly - !
We'll find all this out when we play it though -let's not guess it all before we start! |

Well let me just say job well done you already have me addicted - just from the idea and videos of this game - and another 3700+ have signed a partition to get Haze exclusive. I would just like to say on behalf of those people that Playstation 3 has alot of promising exclusives all with their own unique style. But for your game thats an understatement. IF you do make it exclusive then you dont have to make it so it fits all platforms - instead - you can use the full capabilitys of PS3 which - incase you didn't notice - make it a better game imagine resistance fall of man and motorstorm with the 360 emblem on it just dosent look right and now that i think about it imagine halo and gears of war on other platforms (like the wii)it just would ruin it. If i where you i would make it an exclusive. But if you really where despirate to not make it an exclusive make a different game for different consoles. Simple. But getting to the point.
Will Haze be concentrated on a great multiplayer aspect (like 4 player thru the internet)? or manly on its forever winding storyline? And for the multiplayer we all love a great head to head battle. Like say Mantel vs The Rebels (from the vid)and you can play as the Rebels (i love that name)- just an idea. Also Thanks for making waiting for a game to come out that little bit more interesting - with all the videos and question and answer and whatnot (love that word too |

Ok, that's it. Time to start a "Haze Exclusive to PC" petition (that's right m'laddie- no "partition[s]" for us, just good, ole petitions), and I'll get 12,000 people to sign it, and Ubisoft and Free Radical will completely ignore it because exclusivity for Haze would be stupid and financial suicide. |

The short answer is both! A lot of the core mechanics in the game were chosen because of their great multiplayer potential, and the multiplayer levels will add to your understanding of the campaign mode narrative, so they genuinely do complement one another rather than being totally seperate. is there any way i can get involved with the game before the release? like a beta trial or something like that? if so where, when and how?
and also, if there is a beta, and it is only for the selected few, could you put in a good word for me? |

Are you sure we won't be punching anyone? With Nectar melee/blast you could kill someone with a punch... Where have you seen this though? I don't remember noticing the hand showing up as a weapon anywhere... |

In the OPSM mag it says:
We all know this, but will the other "massive companies" feature in Haze. Rival companies fighting over the same area of land to control? Imagine a Walmart private army... Living Legend |

As I've mentioned before- I smell an RTS spin-off. |

Heh, cheeky! There have been a number of questions about whether there will be a beta for the game, fact is that I don't know at present. Stay tuned to the usual channels for news.
Yeah, I didn't answer this the first time because it wasn't entirely clear what the question was! Er, and I still don't, but instead I'll just generally talk about the player's hands and hope you're satisfied. First off, there isn't an 'unarmed' weapon in HAZE as in TS - you'll always be carrying some gun or mebbe something else... Neko. |

well maybe i didn't specify where i saw it. so the vehicle section of one of the gameplay movies, i recall him walking towards a switch, but before he got to it, he "switched weapons" to one hand, then walked up to the switch, and pulled it down. that's where i'm getting this whole "hand as a weapon-option" thing.
if you still don't know what i'm talking about, or maybe i was getting the wrong picture and you can make it clear to me, then maybe i'll go watch the video again to make sure. "Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing." |

It's in the vehicle section video, where they have to get out of the buggy to open a gate. The switch is in a little shack to one side of the road, under a roofed section, although I can't remember which video it is.

Um, yeah, I'm still a bit confused - there's no 'switch pulling' weapon or anything. The player lowers their gun as they approach the lever before they pull it, but it's automatic (and tbh we're probably going to take it out anyway because it's a bit annoying if you're trying to fight near a lever - instead it'll do it when you press the button to activate the lever). Neko. |
||||
|
yea, that's what i was talking about. maybe i got confused and thought he "switched weapons" but was instead just being in the "ready position" to pull the lever since it was in the area. sorry about that "Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing." |

Meh, if you're pulling a lever with enemies around, you deserve the consequences. Admittedly, I'm not a great fan of the "opensesame" mechanic in most FPS games- that is, you tap a button and the door magically opens. I'm more a fan of how Link opens doors in Twilight Princess- by hefting the giant lugs off their tracks and rolling them away, rofl. Meh, seriously, actually pulling levers and opening doors should definitely happen in the game- it would at least add some tactical depth to the whole process.

I'm partial to the old magic bullet opening mechanism. Shoot to open, never gets old. Smash through to enter is my second favorite method.
