When i was wastching http://www.gametrailers.com/player/33208.html I heard the man say that there was only 3 modes to play from that included free for all and team death match..How can this be..I mean only 3? that is really weak.. other FPS atleast have 6 like search and destroy or capture the flag something like that but ONLY 3!!! Im a tad bit upset...Who only wants to play three. They better patch quick or people will get bored.
There've also been more recent interviews where ROb Yescombe said they had additional modes in mind/prepared for updates via PSN. It was in the same interview where he was talking about downloadable maps and how some of them were his favorites.
Patches, my friends that's the power of patches. And who's to say they were given all of the new modes of play. I think they were given the bare bone so the regular fps modes, deathmatch team deathmatch etc. The rest if there is any, will be shown in the final build. Plus once again the power of updates, and the devs at frd have said there will be dlc for haze with maps but they haven't been very specific. So keep your optimism up, and your eye's and ear's open.
Sadly, deathmatch is by far the most popular online game mode ever created. It never matters if a game has awesome objective based multiplayer modes, deathmatch is always the most populated game mode, always. There is never an exception unless the developer chooses not to include deathmatch, in which case their action/FPS game won't last very long online.
That being said, Haze having three game modes is plenty.
Good point ms_kleaneasy, that's what it's there for.
Another point worth considering is that 3 great modes is far better than six mediocre ones. Or more likely the same three modes with less time spent on them in order to produce three other modes that aren't any good and that no-one plays, which leaves you with the same three modes with less time spent on them. Do you see?
You only have to look at all the FPs titles with rubbish, tacked on online modes to see that just the existence of new or different modes does not make them any good. I was a little surprised to see no mention of CTF, which had been previously discussed, but it seems like it has been rolled ito the Assault maps which have some similar looking ideas built in. Again, we'll have to wait and see, but I think the comparatively low number of modes is probably a strength rather than a weakness. And as pointed out above, the most popular and played game modes are covered, and new DLC also holds the possibility of new modes as well.

Team Fortress 2 only has about two game modes (CTF and Point Capture) and its far from dying.
southpark accent "Oh My Gawwd" theres s more than three(technically anyway) there is a a different objective based mode for every map for example
On the landcarrier map Promise Hand rebels have to shut down the defenses so they can launch a missile at the landcarrier this could be done damaging the radio towers, obtaining a keycard, etc
Games don't affect kids coz if pacman affected the last generation of kids most teens would have a pizza face and munch loads of pills

Ive been keeping it with Team Survival (Now Team Deathmatch No Respawn in the sequel) on Rainbow Six Vegas since it came out. Ive never been a fan of modes with weird objectives, I never felt part of it. As long as we can choose if theres no respawn in Haze, Ill be good.

No respawning is really fun but at times it can get annoying. For example, if you die at the beginning of a new match by something ridiculous -like a grenade that has been lobbed across the whole map. It would be very nice though, if you could create your own game that has an option of no respawning/respawning.
And having 3 modes isn't a bad thing, like as Tob1Uch1ha said, the modes will be diverse for each map with several options on each, which should have people never become bored, because they will rarely be doing the same thing.
Yes - although the extent of match customisation is unknown at this point, (although we know you can set respawn times for instance), if TSFP is anything to go by then there will be plenty of scope for customisation of matches.

I would guess it would be almost as amazingly customizable as the Timesplitters series, obviously slightly less as this isn't an much of an arcade shooter.
But yeah I feel you on the dying in the beginning of the No Respawn games, but it usually doesn't happen to me and when it does Im usually surprisingly not angry. Bathroom break time I guess.
