I've been thinking about the multiplayer of Haze and to me it seems like if nectar is in multiplayer it will ruin the equilibrium of classes. The Promised Hand sniper will basically be a normal class with a sniper while the Mantel sniper on nectar will have increased scope, enemies outlined, and will be able to recover health when attacked.

...and play dead, and shoot out Nectar administrators when Mantel cluster...

quote:
The ‘Aguila’ (Eagle)
This sniper rifle carries fewer rounds than the Mantel equivalent, but what it lacks in number it makes up for in power. A deadly piece of hardware.

That might also suggest that PH sniper rifles are more powerful than Mantel ones, presumably giving the PH sniper an advantage.

I think people are worrying unnecessarily about the balancing here. Sure, there'll be some problems with the balance, there always are in new games, but Free Radical have been living and breathing this balancing act on Haze for years now - I'm sure that all these concerns have been considered by them, and tested in game. Give them some credit eh? Wink

But promised hand can't find you with the simple click of the left trigger.

Mantel snipers(not including normal troops on nectar with the handgun):
*Better zoom
*Enemies outlines
*Larger clip

Rebel snipers:
*Plant mines so they cant be snuck up on
*More powerful guns
*Camo for when mantel troops have their nectar off
*Who needs outlines when all your enemies heads look lightbulbs
*Nectar grenades have dual purposes-Overdose mantel troopers and smoke bomb that mantel are afraid of for quick getaways
*Play dead if mantel sneak up from behind you

So I think you got it the wrong way round the promise hand snipers have a huge advantage over mantel unless nectar perception tells you when crosshairs are locked on to you

I wonder if your only allowed to plant mines on certain terrain. Or do they get laid down anywhere ?

But not all the Mantel armor looks like lightbulbs, in fact only the normal troopers do while everyone else has relatively neutral colored helmets.

But the mines and the play dead do seem to make it fairly even......

I've seen mines 'buried' on the metal deck of the ship level, so it looks like they can go on anything classed as 'ground'.

Ahh I remember that vid, good point. Seems kinda weird though cuz you see the PH covering the mine up with what looks to be dirt. Looks kinda odd to me since there isn't any dirt on that ground. Well atleast not that much.

I wouldnt be surprised if you could throw them at stuff as in Timesplitters.

If you see a player sniping as a Mantel trooper and he haven't notice you or if you're fast enough then you can probably throw a nectar knife or a nectar grenade at him since while sniping he would probably be standing still and be full on nectar.

Or if you can sneak up behind you can probably shoot his nectar pack aswell. Haha, think of it when he start sniping his friends instead of the rebels. Big Grin

Thats kind of sad. If you have a niche in sniping that's nice and all, but that isnt the only aspect of this or any game.
