I heard that the last S.C was buggy alot so i bought the chaos theory instead .Installed the latest patch and started to play.
First Bug at the penthouse where i always fell down on that zip line nextto the neon sign.Solution :Fly cheat. Second bug was inside that chinese house where i had to pass through that vent but i didnt get the interact panel.Solution : Ghost cheat. Now im stuck at seoul part one .I kill those guys in the elevator but again i dont get the intract panel to finish the mission. Can you please help me ? ( i wonder how buggy the last S.C could be ) Thnx for your time . |

The guys at the elevator were trying to repair it. If you interupt them before they are finished, the elevator will not work and you have to find another way in. If you have found Dvorak, make sure you have completed your objectives. Again, you will have to find another way into the elevator besides the doors if you stopped the repairs. Try to find the top of it. Hint: Look across from the bathroom on the first floor of the apartment.

I dont think thats the case .I have seen a video with the walkthrough of seoul part 1 and the elevator was working properly. Its a bug one of the many.
Thanks for your time though. Anyone with a savefile at seoul part 2 ? |

Sorry- I was thinking the Penthouse elevator after using the zip line across. Some of the elevators you have to be in exactly the right spot and facing the right direction to work.

Hmm. I have encountered zero bugs in the any of the Chaos Theory levels. In fact it's rock solid when I play it and I have not encountered any problems with it.
After you kill the two guys from the elevator you just go into the elevator (I can't remember if you have to use the elevator controls or not). The mission will end as long as you have gotten the data from the computer. If you haven't done that, the mission will not continue until you do. Maybe I'm lucky but I haven't had any of the problems described here. Now Double Agent is a completely different kettle of fish... --------------------------------------- Rockin' out of time... |

i have the data and all and i have to interact with the elevator in order to finish the first part of seoul.
Should i try to play the game without the patch ? |

Wasn't the patch just for online- other than the one that added Shader Model 2.0 for ATI video cards?

I don't remember what the patches were for. I played Chaos Theory all the way through before I ever patched it. I can't tell any difference with or without the patch.
Did you take out the soldiers from the elevator? Or did you just slip past them? I've never been able to get through that part in full stealth. I really hate those RPVs in the next part, too. What happens if you take out all the guards or if you leave them all alone except for the last one? --------------------------------------- Rockin' out of time... |

For full stealth I hide in a dark corner in the bathroom and wait for one of the guards to go on patrol (whistling and then hiding and can get one of the guards to go on patrol if he otherwise doesn't). The second guard stands in front of the elevator and surprisingly enough, it's possible to slip behind him without being noticed.

I thought one guard checked the bathroom when they got upstairs. I'll have to go back and do it again.
I'll also check my prima guide. It's not much good for stealth mode. But it least it has all the requirements/goals and triggers in it. --------------------------------------- Rockin' out of time... |

I just played through the Seoul mission. After pulling the data from the computer, I waited by the ladder for the door to blow. After the door blew and the two guys came walking in I sneaked out behind them under the stairs and then to the foot of the stairs, up and around the corner and into the bathroom (far stall at the back where it's dark). I waited for the two guys in the elevator to finish talking then one guy walked off to check on the two guys in the vault. The other guy (as has been said) was easy to sneak behind and into the elevator. I used the elevator control and that part of the mission was over.
Next thing I'm on top of the building with the guard, the UAV and the P3R. Did I mention I hate those UAVs? I need to take the sniper rifle attachment to take those things out. I keep picking the shotgun instead (waste of kit). Is it possible to get 100% on this mission? You're ORDERED to interrogate one guy and you can't just let him go. You have to KO him or kill him (I KO him). It's wrong to penalize you for doing what you're ordered to do. KO'ing one of those first two guys should not count against you. --------------------------------------- Rockin' out of time... |

You don't get penalized for KO'ing in Chaos Theory even on Expert (nor do you get penalized for the objective kills such as Nedich & Lacerda), so you're good to go. That interrogation is actually 1 of only 3 absolute required KO's in the entire game to get all 100%'s.
And as for the UAV's, instead of shooting them you can avoid them fairly easily if you want, or if need be use the OCP on the pistol to freeze them temporarily to get by them (though it's a pretty explosion if you blast them with the sniper -------------------------------- "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. When I played through Seoul last night no one even saw me and I didn't shoot or KO anyone except that first guy I was ordered to. On the results screen it showed only one thing and that's the one guy I KO'd. I didn't touch anyone else. So, you _do_ get penalized for it. Try it yourself. I'm sure of it because I just did it last night. I did this on the lowest difficulty setting. So it might be different for that (I don't know why it would be). Last night was the first time I remembered to use the EEV on the laptops. I was having to distract the guards from them and actually use them before. Much easier using the EEV. I usually end up having to zap the UAVs with the OCP but it's a pain to have to watch out for them. I'd rather just get rid of them. [EDIT] Apparently the scoring is different in "normal" mode than it is in Hard or Expert. I just played through the Seoul mission again on Hard then on Expert. I can't tell the difference in game play between those two. But the scoring at the end, I got 100% both times. I still had one KO showing but it didn't count off for it. It _did_ count off (3%) for the KO playing on Normal/Easy. I knew the scoring was different between the three difficulty levels with different percentages. But I didn't know it clipped you for kills and KOs that are mission objectives. That's probably a bug or a dig at people playing on easy so they can't get 100% for the game. You can also try to start the level over and it may work. That sometimes will work (and this part of Seoul isn't all that long, so it's not too much to do over).

I'm experiencing the same problem. I used to work as a games tester, so believe me, I've tried all sorts of things to be able to use the elevator in question..
If someone could make a .sav file for Seoul part 2, I think Spinrad and I would be very grateful! |

I have 2 save game files in a ZIP on my web site. This is for SCCT on Expert level in Stealth mode at the very beginning of the Seoul Part 2. No shots fired, no gadgets used, shells and wall mine picked up, tag control van done, data drive picked up, 1 interrogation, no kills, no other KOs and no sightings at that point. The opportunity objective to turn off all the propaganda units fulfilled. You're on the roof top with the guard, the P3R and the UAV. The rest is up to you. Have at it.
If you need it on a different difficulty level or a different load out, let me know. I should be able to whip one up pretty quickly. The file is a ZIP file at: http://www.crystalblack.com/SCCT_SEOUL_SE2.zip This Zip contains both the standard save file and the QuickSave for that point. SCCT - Splinter Cell Chaos Theory SEOUL - Name of the map/mission S - Stealth E - Expert 2 - Part 2 Any other save games will follow the same naming convention. --------------------------------------- Rockin' out of time... |
