all guards disabled. passed through all mines. how do i get into building to disable antenna on roof.thres an opening in the rear corner above skips but can,t reach.

There should be a dumpster that you can do a jump on(double jump?) that will get you up to a hole in the wall.

In case you need to know how, get on the dumpster and push your movement speed high. Run and jump towards the opening above you. While you are in the air, hit jump again and if it works properly you should kick off the side wall and go higher- enough to just grab the ledge and pull yourself up. It may take a few tries to get it. I think this was the toughtest level in the original game.

I died so many times in the part with the turrets. I remember being the first one on here to discover that you could sticky shock Grinko. I found out by accident because I was pinned down and out of nades. I have the fifth freedom... so watch out, here I come Originally registered July 17, 2002 |

I used a lot of saves to do that. The level is very hard to avoid kills or KOs on.

OK on the roof as you walk across the baddies get spooked and I don't know how to get to the line without scaring them (this is for xbox) plus theres that stupid advertisment sign that keeps flickering on and off help please. As for the mine feild theres one mine that will lower your health if you roll but time your movements with the lights and take out the guards with head shots otherwise you are dead.

Just use thermals and avoid the mines. Or if you want to play around you can shoot and detonate them.
On the rooftop, move slowly and wait until the flickering sign is off. Also keep off the roof itself. Once you get to the switch to turn off the power they will come anyways. I run up the stairs and find a quiet dark spot at the far end where you can wait for them to come out. You can either shoot them or slip through the door behind them after they come out. |

I tried shooting the mines but that don't work. Plus that stupid light and alarm plus the ninja dude. I have ziltch point crap for health just about i'm tempted to start over but I've gotten to where I'm just entering the freezer..

You will want to conserve ammo for a little later on. Try some grabs in the freezer.

OK, CIA_Cell asked me to come over here and help him out.
If you just can't get through the minefield with stealth, or the section before it, I'll walk you through that. Stealth the beginning isn't to hard, so try this: As soon as you can move, climb over the fence to the right and quietly climb down - don't drop or they'll hear you. Wait for when all three are facing/moving away from you and head to the dark spot between the fence and concrete. Get as close as you can to the edge near the fence opening and wait. When the guard in your area turns left + the one at the opening turns away, the third should also start heading away, so move quietly behind the second one and when he stops get on his left side - right next to him! Don't worry, if you're quiet he won't see or hear you. When he turns to the right start moving quietly forward, slowly increasing your speed. When you're about 1/2 way to the door, move full speed to the barrels next to it and jump up on them - you'll be in the dark and they won't see you. Jump up on the wall and quietly drop to the ground. Now we'll skip to some non-stealth tactics, since you're having problems here: If the first guard in the mine area hears you, quietly move to the right, not too far though, and wait for him to come investigate. He'll only go to where you dropped, but the gravel you're on makes a lot of noise so when he turns away try to catch up to him without alerting him. Grab and/or KO him then hide the body behind the dumpster there, if you just can't do it - use your pistol/shocker/SC20K to take him out. Move back towards the door and pull the SC20K, aim up towards the first spotlight and look for the guards head, snipe him. Now go in the door and grab the medkit, back out and stand at the opening in the fence. When the spotlight passes you, run to the white blocks directly in front of you and jump on them, heading for the dumpster/box ahead where you want to crouch behind it. Again, pull the SC20K and slowly scoot to the left just enough to see the spot where the guard at the second spotlight stops. On the first pass, aim for his head and get it aligned, then wait for him to return and snipe him (I do this so that he doesn't move away before Sam runs out of breath or before I'm fully aligned, patience is key here). Minefield: When the spotlights both pass, run full speed to the left of the metal sheet straight ahead and wait. Use your thermal vision to see where the mines are, then back to normal/nv. You're going for the dark spot ahead and to the left, just past the mine that's between some crates/blocks. When the spotlights move away, run forward to the right of the block nearest the mine and wait. The timing in this part is the hardest. When the spotlight moves to the right, you've got about 5 seconds to jump over the block just to the left of your position, then forward and left to jump over the next one and get to the wall before the light returns. What happens a lot is that you get in front of the first one, but don't face it properly so that when you jump it causes you to climb it - if you don't 'mount' the block the first time, quickly move back to the right and crouch until the next cycle. Once at the wall, it's and easy trot over to the dumpster area, pick up the medkit to the right, jump on the dumpster, double jump up to the ledge and get that much needed checkpoint. Wonderful, and no alarms! The rooftop: If you just can't get the timing, do this: Move through to the roof, left to where the concrete leads out. Wait for the sign to go dark and quickly move around until you reach end. Again wait for the sign to go dark and try to move through the next section with the planks to reach the sign. If you do, jump up to the sign, look for the zip line and wait for the dark again to hop up and head over. If at any time you alert them, rush/jump move to the farthest right part of the roof and crouch between the concrete walls. When the first two soldiers come out, one will head left and crouch so pull the SC20K and snipe him before he moves. The second one will be standing next to the antenna, but will be behind it. If you are careful with the 20k you can stand and he will lean forward just enough for you to snipe him. Now hop up on the concrete against the wall and head for the fence ahead, climb over it and get next to the switch for the antenna, but face the steps ahead of you while standing. Flip the switch and as soon as you can move, rush forward just past the door and crouch. As soon as the soldier starts moving away, move quietly forward and through the open door before it closes. Inside: Head left down the stairs and SLOWLY move ahead and disable the wall mine then pick up all the supplies. Be sure as you move through this level to keep the wallmines and at least 2 shockers for the final battle. Move back up the stairs and shoot out the overhead light. Go to the door on your left, open it and immediately head back down the stairs into the dark as you have just triggered the next elite soldier to come your way. Wait until he goes outside before continuing. Now go through the door on the left, shoot out the light in here, arm your pistol (for a quieter shot) and with it armed, open the next door. Quickly look up and shoot the small light above the door out, the arm the 20K and aim down to the left. As soon as the first soldier shows his head, snipe him - the second will investigate, snipe him and if done correctly the third will eventually investigate so finish him off. If the third doesn't or you don't get him, you need to jump over the railing and scoot to the left, drop down to grab the lip on the wall, then quietly down to the bench. He will probably be standing facing the door, so take him out. Now move all these bodies around the corner into the urinal area, go to the door and flip the light off. Move out to the left, around the next corner and enter the room on the left. Sneak up behind the soldier and grab/interrogate him, drag him to the spot between the table and wall where it's dark to KO him and then pick up some ammo. Head out the door and drop into the open hatch on the floor, crouch, NV and move forward to your next checkpoint. Stop the killers: When you reach the spot with the grating above, use the 20K to shoot the light out, the first soldier will investigate - snipe him which will cause the second to investigate, snipe him. The third sometimes doesn't come, if not, move to the other side of the open grating and shoot the vent on the ceiling towards the right (may take several shots to get his attention). When the third soldier investigates, snipe him. Now go back to the previous room and refill your ammo (convenient eh?), then to the tunnel, up the pipe, through the ceiling, drop down and into the freezer. Need help with the freezer? You need to mostly use your thermals to see in the fog as you have probably found. It is also very helpful to try to be stealthy in there- sneak up behind guys and grab them and KO them instead of shooting. You are going to need weapons for later on so try to save them. If you start shooting, they will shoot back and even toss grenades at you. You will also encounter a couple of machine gun placements. Find a way over the wall to get behind them and shut them off so you can continue.
Definately the toughest level and you have not hit the worst of it yet. |

Drop out of the ceiling, make sure the 3 bodies you created are hidden back near the grating. You can stealth this, but it's not easy so we'll go with the lethal method...
As you enter the frost filled area, turn on your thermal vision, pull out your SC20K and head for the door. Stop and aim to the right (you may need to stand) and towards the next door. A soldier will walk in and stop just to the right of the door and you can just see the top of his head, so snipe him and go get the body to add to your pile. Now move to where he was shot and look into the next room, with thermal, and snipe the soldiers in the next area, then move their bodies behind something in that room so as not to be found. My memory is a little foggy on this part, but I think you need to get to the left wall and jump onto a locker to get behind the turret so you can disable it. Now move to the door and look to the right at the next door, wait until you see a soldier appear, snipe him. If you're lucky another guard will come investigate and you can snipe him at the same spot, but often the investigating soldier is out of view. Once things settle down you can move towards the next door - carefully - as they can see you at this one. Set your view so you can watch their patrol and when they are furthest away, peek out and snipe the one on the right then move back into the previous room just in case. Once things settle down you can move back to your spot and snipe the third guard when the chance offers itself. Hide the bodies behind some equipment to the right. The next two rooms can be difficult, but with great patience will be done in a flash (oxymoron?). The next soldier is hidden in a crevice and there's a turret that will mow you down if you go to the door. Position yourself to the left as far from the door as possible, fire a shot to the right in the next room to draw him out then snipe him when he pauses. Now you can hop on a flat area of the equipment at the left side of this room, jump up to the pipe, legs up and shimmy into the next room. You'll also find a medkit on one of the tables here. If you'd like you can disable the turret. I suggest taking the body into the next 'hallway' and dropping it under the fallen air vent then using your pistol to shoot the overhead light out. Final room: Quietly move to the door and get your view so you can see into the room. When the two patrolling soldiers are moving away, grab the one standing with his back to you and drag him back to the other body, KO him and dump him under the vent as well. Back to the doorway, they can easily see you here BTW, move to the far side of the door when they are not looking and aim through the door. When the soldier appears, snipe him and be ready for the last one to come running to investigate. Finish off the last one, hide the bodies back at the vent, head into the next room and find an opening in the floor farthest from the door and drop in. Have fun in the next section and let me know if you have any more trouble. |

Ok I did that level and I ended up with 2 shockers left. The wall mines I placed on the edge of the large door way and on the wall when you first enter by the bench of the first doorway. (decription) first doorway as your walking towards it turn right and go straight and its the bench part. I keilled Grinko with a head shot. The worst part was that the game doesn't show him moving inside the doorway to the little cubby on the second doorway which made hard but I just waited for him to move and capped him. Now I'm on the Chinese Embassy Part II. I tried your advice and it worked pretty well until I acidentally pulled the trigger instead of a shocker. Also I opened the grates at the beginning that was the trigger part. I got to the switch just fine. When I got to the mine field I had trouble with that again cuz of that stupid mine before you run over to the corner where the two lights meet.

This is the lethal method to finish the final fight and save the Chinese and Americans.
In addition to the following, I also first go through the area and shoot out all the 'shootable' lights, including the lantern(s) on the floor, so that Sam is in the dark for much of the fight. The following assumes that you picked up the 3 wall mines, shockers and ammo at the bottom of the (left side) stairs just after you left the rooftop: 1) Place one wallmine on the right at the entrance after the leather curtain. 2) Go all the way down the hall into the opening. Grab the ammo from the shelf. 3) Go back to the half wall where a bench sits right in the center. Place your 2nd wall mine here. 4) Go down the left side of the stables. Half way down towards the side with the soldiers, place your 3rd wallmine. 5) Now head back around and between the stables. Disable the IFF on the left turret and completely disable the right turret. If you need it, pick up the medkit on the bench opposite the left turret. 6) Arm your SC20k with a sticky shocker, and press in on the Jstick to enable auto-fire (the ammo display will change from a single highlighted bullet to multiple). 7) Go to the right where the Chinese are and speak to them (checkpoint), be ready to run full speed back out to the turrets. 8) Run back out to the turret(s) and jump on top of them, then face the aisle. What will happen: Mine 1 takes out the first wave of soldiers. Mine 2 takes out two of the next wave. Mine 3 takes out the last of the second wave. The final wave will have one soldier and the Colonel (red beret). As soon as the Colonel appears in the aisle ahead, left trigger him with the sticky shocker. Immediately turn to your right and aim at the opening to the aisle before the soldiers. As soon as you see an enemy appear, unload your entire clip into him before he can throw the grenade. This will only leave Grinko to kill, so move into the stable ahead on the right and peak over the middle of the stall and wait for him to appear on either the left or right side opening far ahead and snipe him. Mission Complete! |
