I just bought the 10th anniversary ed and my comp is not recognizing any of the DVDs. I put a DVD in the drive and it does not automatically start running. I try to run it manually using OPEN F:\setup.exe and it says there is no disk in the drive! I have XP OS. Please help!!!

can you browse the contents of the dvd or does it just not recognize at all?
also does your comp recognize other dvds? |

It doesn't recognize the DVDs at all! As if there is nothing inserted in the drive. All my other DVDs and games work fine. I was recommended to clear out the C:\windows\temp directory, the internet cache, ran a disk scan, defragmenter, tried selective start up, and a safemode install. Nothing has worked! I finally concluded maybe it was the DVDs themselves and had it exchanged. The exchanged DVDs are also not working- it is definitely my computer, but my comp is a decent HP and only 2 years old. I don't know why it's not working but I really am disappointed. The only thing I was maybe thinking now would be if a destructive or non destructive system recovery would help. Is that possible? Thanks in advance.
