I'm confused. The Myst book was falling at the end of The Book of Atrus which means it could've immidiatly fallen into our hands like at the beginning of Myst. But Sirrus and Achenar weren't born then, were they? (I have not read this book or any of them so I do not know.)

It fell to Earth but it remained hidden for some time. Then you found it.

Oh, ok thanks. Because in my Myst game the book falls to our feet right there. When it does we find it, lol.

That's a good point. You mean at the opening sequence when you see the book land and then you walk up to it, right? Probably just a minor inconsistency.

If you want it to fit into the storyline, it may have been traveling for a long time . . .

I believe the opening sequence was a compressed illustration of what happened historically for dramatic effect. Of course, nobody has ever commented on how long it takes things to fall through the Fissure, but evidence from Uru suggests that, like using a Linking Book, the process is virtually instantaneous.

Can anyone tell me where I can get the Myst books? I`ve barely even heard of them (I though Myst was just a video game series) and I live in Pennsylvania, USA.

The Myst books have been re-printed in one volume called "The Myst Reader", and should be available at Barnes & Noble, Joseph Beth, Borders, Amazon.com, etc. If you can't find it at the store in your area, see if they can order it in for you.

Darnspiderchair, your name cracks me up. Too Happy Lol, I got "The Myst Reader" for Christmas. Anyway, I think Alahmnat's right. Falling through the star fissure for thirty years at the end of Riven? No one would survive without food (probably how Gehn died), which would also just make the traveler missing longer. (Lol! Missing: Traveler dude. Last seen: in the New Mexico desert.) Haha! Too Happy

I like yer name too! Big Grin Myst can be a little unrealistic at times. In Myst (1) three people were in trap books, and each of them survived, well, forever in there. Cheers Too Happy
