First time posting here. I normally don't look online for help in a game, especially one I've already played, but I think I've encountered a nasty bug and I don't know how to fix it. Thanks in advance for your understanding and help.
I'm playing the 10th anniversary DVD edition of Myst Masterpiece edition in Windows XP. Everything seems to work fine EXCEPT that the puzzle where I have to set the power for the space ship has a serious problem. If, the first time I try to work the puzzle, I accidentally blow out the power to the space ship, then I can't ever fix it. I go outside, climb the ladder, flip the breaker switch, go back down and the space ship power dial stays at zero. I've tried everything. Nothing works. what do I do? at this point, I'm afraid that my only option is to uninstall, reinstall and try to remember which buttons to press to solve the puzzle the first time through. Otherwise, I'm stumped. thanks.
There are two ladders and breaker switches, one next to the entrance to the control room, and another one nearer to the space ship. You must reset both switches in order to get the power to work again.
Turn on each of the buttons on the control panel in turn and write down the voltage it provides, then turn it off again. Then try to work out a combination that adds to the required voltage. There are several valid combinations using 4 buttons.
