Hi, I've gotten as far as raising the bridge of gears to the Mechanical age, but I can't seem to open the door. Every time I open it, it just instantly swings shut again. I don't remember that behavior from the original Myst. Is it a bug, and if so, what can I do to circumvent it?

Have you applied the official realMyst version 1.11 patch from Ubisoft?

Also, are you positive that you've done everything necessary to open the door? If not, see Mechanical Age, gears puzzle walkthrough.

Ah, figured it out. Turns out my computer's fast enough that it the mouse was getting clicked fifty plus times every time I hit the button. I just have to have a very fast hand. Thanks for the help, though!
