I just bought Myst III Exile from a computer show and it wont run on Winows XP. It installs and then says "c:\WINDOWS|system32|UBI1.exe" not found, and then says "cannot run NT platform." I tried following the troubleshooting directions from Microsoft website but it doesnt seem to work. help!
I'm getting the same message. Judging from the dates on the posts, it might be sometime before we get any help. I have been looking through the forums for other threads of similar nature, but I come up empty everytime.
Perhaps it is so that it is just impossible to run Exile on Windows XP.
I think that is more likely.
Maybe Cyan should have wrote this game themselves. (instead of outsourcing)
I will check back periodically to see if you had any luck. I will post here if I am successful as well.
I just answered a question about the original Exile on the Exile forum and it is possible to run on XP SP2. Check the forum for information about my system.
