I'm playing Myst (10th anniversary ed) on a Dell Inspiron 2650 (laptop). I'm playing off a .uif image with MagicDisc virtual drive software. I have a Celeron 1.5G, 510M RAM, GeForce 2 w/ 16M, DirectX 9, 1024x768, 32 bit color, Windows XP.

When I start Myst, it only covers about 2/3 of the screen area starting from the upper left corner, instead of the whole screen. (It was covering the screen when I played off the DVD, but it was slow.) The picture is shrunk so it fits in the smaller area. I can see other windows behind Myst, but I can't click them unless I alt-tab, just as if the whole screen were covered.

When I click on the hints, it often won't give me the next hint even though the button appears active, and when I click a button, such as the map, it gives me the button above, (the magnifying glass).

Thanks for any help.

I figured out half of my problem. When I was starting Myst, it conflicted with another program and was made smaller. But when I start it after closing the other program, it stays big. The graphics are a little jaggy, but that's not a big deal to me.
