I have tried every source I can think of, and searched this Forum again and again to no avail.
I have Windows XP, 512 RAM. I can play the game with no problem, but can't SAVE. When I try to open in the "SAVE FILE",I get the message that Windows can't open .MST files..... or when I click "RESTORE" on the "game options", I still end up in the beginning of the game. Am I storing in the wrong place?
Thank you.

If you're trying to open a .mys file outside of the game, Windows won't know what to do with it. You will need to start the game, skip the opening credits (press escape or spacebar), and then access the game's menu by clicking at the top of the screen and selecting File->Open.

Of course, I'm also not sure what exactly your problem is, as you say you can't save, but then say you can't open a saved game. Have you been able to save a game, and are having trouble opening it, or are you unable to save a game at all?

I apologize for not being clear. I can save the game, and am able to locate it under Programs,Red Orb, saved folder. When I click on it, Windows does not recognize the file extension.
I have tried in the past to bypass the opening credits by pressing the space bar. That never worked for me. I will try using esc and opening from the menu. Thank you so much. Will LYK how it goes.

Problem solved!
In case others would like to know my solution, esc. or space bar did not work for me but, when the book appeared, rather than clicking on it, I accessed the "file" at the top tool bar, then clicked on my saved file.
Thanks a million for your help.
