Okay.... I've got a problem when I'm playing RealMyst and I go to the imager in the Rime Age. Whenever I put in the crystal code from the journal in the age, the snowy island surrounded by water doesn't show up, despite using the correct code, and instead I see nothing but white in the imager. Can anybody help me regarding this issue? There's got to be a fix for that. I'm running Windows XP SP2, with DirectX 9.0c, and I've got a Radeon 9800, plus the IndeoXP codec. I've done everything I can, and the island still doesn't appear.

Are you sure you're using the correct code? I know one of the crystal shapes is rather blurred (Atrus needs to stop drinking coffee when he's writing), and two of the others look rather similar.

Yes, I'm sure. I checked before and that island which can be affected by the colors of the crystals doesn't show up. If I had put in the wrong code, I would have known for I would have seen a dark image instead, which appears to have stars in it (something like that). The image has been showing up plain white in place of that island, and I know for sure. I've double-checked the journal and even sketched the crystals from it, and I already know what the 5th crystal is. I just can't get it to show. If it did show, I would have seen animation. I did a check, and it seems to be missing the right bik video files. Is there any way to find those specific ones, or does the imager not use them? If they're available, they might fix the problem.

Update:
I was checking on realMyst again, after downloading a Glide wrapper. I checked the Rime age crystal viewer under Glide, and the mystery age functioned like normal! That also fixed a problem with the journal in the same age. Could Direct X be causing the problems? I've got Direct X version 9.0c. Alahmnat, do you have any suggestions? |

You might try re-installing DirectX 9. Of course, it's also almost equally possible that the game doesn't like playing nice with newer drivers, so installing the Glide wrapper may have done the trick for whatever reason.

Try installing the latest release of DirectX 9.0c and the video driver listed for Uru and your video chipset, as detailed in Uru: Installing Video Drivers With Win XP. (The Uru drivers are also appropriate for Myst and realMYST.)
