Ok first of all I just recently started playing Myst. I really like it, but there is one part I am stuck on and it is driving me crazy. Hammer I got the generator to 59 volts and then got the keys from the book. Now im in the space ship and im trying to get the sounds right. But no matter how hard I try I can't seem to get it right! What am I doing wrong? How do i know if the sliders match the sounds of the keys? Once i set the sliders and I pull the lever what is supposed to happen? Please HELP ME!

If you set the sliders correctly and pull the lever, the screen in the ship will activate. If you're having trouble matching the tones, there's a couple of things you can do:

1) count the number of keys (black and white) from the left side of the keyboard to where the key you're playing is. Then count up the same number of "notches" on the sliders, using the various notes as your indicator. If hearing the changes in the tone is your problem, I would suggest trying:

2) get someone else in your family or circle of friends who has a better ear than you to help match the tones.

Some have also used tape recorders to record the organ notes, then played it back when setting the sliders.
