I don't know if a request like this works but I'd love to see the function inputbox.

Idea: Syntax:
InputBox("Message....", callback)

callback is the function that is invoked when you press okay. This function must recieve one parameter. That is the value that is inserted.

The HOF expansion includes this capability in the QuestionBox function. You can use two callback functions, one for the OK button and one for the Cancel button.
