Actually, I've noticed that all of Xana's animation files are present, so it would suggest that either the developers just left them in the file directories, or she is rendered real-time.

I've loaded up the Xana Demonic (and regular) model into 3dsMax and while the model/s are fine, Max doesn't like her 20+MB cinematic animation file and won't load it to either of models. All other animation files work fine.

BTW, changing the textures is very simple, using the plugins mentioned in above posts. Most of the character textures are a good sized resolution, too, allowing for detailed work.

You mean replace the naked Xana model with the non naked one and re-do the cutscenes? Yes we could, anyone up for it? I'd rather re-render all cutscenes the other way around. But I don't really wanna do that either :/

Actually, I meant use the present, but unused, semi-nude Xana for the in-game Leanna, the one you fight alongside. It should be a simple file swap, though that might mess up the animations. The Xana model may not have been made compatible with combat animations.

MattMyers...just a couple of things about compression and mip maps. What you said is fine if you're just mucking about trying out a new skin, but if you intend to release a public mod then you will NEED to use compressed textures and mipmaps. Uncompressed textures should only really be used on things like the HUD, same with no mipmaps and no LOD. MipMaps are basically smaller and smaller versions of your base texture, which are scaled depending on the distance from the camera. There's no need for your texture to be ultra sharp when the character is just a dot on the horizon Big Grin

thanks OddBa1l, i never knew what mipmaps were, but they seemed to smear and make my textures look all compressed. in the view model even, so not only when it's far away, not sure.

but yeah, those are the usual settings i do when i am mucking around making new skins for things.

ModelViewer/face poser comes with HL2 sdk.

Hmmm, you won't be able to replace the semi nude xana with the dressed one. Both the skins are wrapped on other ways.

Though the normal skin of Xana has more nudeness than the other ones. If I could only make the clothes invisible.

Anyway, i really suck at making mods/skins etc. Can anyone give me his/her mail, and i send him/her my ideas? (Anyway, i think its always "him" Angel )
