Hi all,
I'm new to these forums, nice place ya got here, but anyway here's my question. Can you mod (and use mods) on the steam version of Dark Messiah? ty, Bek |

Mod is a soooo vague word...
Whether you're referring to a single player "mod" you'll need to know what's the name of all the animations for each NPC, then a good coder could modify the .cpp and .h files from HL2 SDK in order to achieve some good AI with the characters you own in the DM folder. You'll have to modify the rate of fire and behaviour of your weapons too, unless you're done with the crowbar... This way you'll obtain a very similar single player game. That's the same thing Arkane did a couple of years ago, but they were paid for... Whether you're referring to a multi player "mod" you'll have an harder work, my opinion, 'cause you'll have to understand the net code needed. Anyway there's a lot of good coders/developers out there, look at this and imagine this gameplay for a "dungeon master" team versus a 3/4 FPS players "heroes" team. ...and this guys do this all for free |

k..
So what, we use the HL2 SDK for DM? lol newbie to DM, only got it a few days ago, havent got the SDK yet. So Can I use mods other people have made for normal Dark Messiah on my steam copy of Dark Messiah? |

Nope, you could use DM's textures and models in HL2 mods if only someone bothers coding it all.
Without coding, you can still use textures and static models when mapping for HL2 or HL2 mods. Actually there's no mod for DM. |
