Okay, I don't know about the rest of you but I REALLY want an expansion...So I decided to post a few ideas! If you have any ideas I encourage you to post them here, maybe Ubisoft will read and take some of the ideas. My own list begins....now!
-Demon Race: -Mentalist- could use the powers of the mind (ooo spooky). For instance, the mentalist could be a support char and create invisible walls or use "hands" to hold people still, perhaps a mind domination could be an offensive spell. -Summoner- This would just be plain fun. A summoner could cast spells and create creatures to help them. Now I know this would be a lot of work but imagine the outcome...The main problem would be the balance of this character. Perhaps the summoners spells could take a lot more points to get. No trolls, no powkais, i'm talking about simpler creatures such as a spider or two. -Necromancer: We have an undead race and frankly i'm surprised this class wasn't thought of. The Necromancer could summon undead (skeles and zombies, WEAKER than the summoner) and perhaps use spells such as Vampire Bite to hurt their victims. -Druid: This would be a little bit harder to think of ideas for. It could be another form of a mage perhaps, and use spells that incorporate earth and water. This way it could be different from the mage who uses fire and lightning. Also they could work as support chars to ward off their polar opposites attacks. For instance, the earth magic could defend against lightning and water could defend against fire (i.e water shield, earth shield) -Ninja- Ninjas are just cool, let's face it. The Ninja could use Nunchuks and throw shurikans. This could also be an upgrade of the assassin -NOTE: PLEASE POST IDEAS!! THE MORE WE HAVE THE MORE LIKELY SOME WILL BE USED |

They should fix the game instead of milking more money out of it.
But ubi's way is always milking money. Unstable and bad expansion, here we come. |

The game worked pretty much OK for me. What I would want from an expansion would be something rather simple and would not require much work (Atleast for MP). Classless Multiplayer using Single Player weapons, shields, and spells. It can almost be done right now, if you ignore the lag. Can you imagine that "realistic" sword combat or the huge multitudes of spells online? What about throwing boxes at people? Adrenaline mode course could be a bit altered or disabled. |

The Classless would be nice, but still a few more abilities and spells would make it a lot more interesting. If it were classless the top level might have to be raised and the xp requirement lowered

Your thinking of the Multi Player game, I am thinking of the Single Player game yet online (not co-op but classless fights). There are loads of spells in SP as is, course more could be added. But even with existing spells it would be more then fun |

Alright. This is a bit long and I didnt read enough to know if I'm repeating anythings so here I go (mostly magic stuff):
Flare Arrow: Left Click: Same Right Click: Little Flame Arrow circles you and fires flare arrows at nearby enemies(costs a large amount of mana). Left Click on Ally:n/a Right Click on Ally: little flare arrow circles ally and fires at nearby enemies (costs a lot of mana). Adrenaline: Left Click: Same Right Click: Rotating fire wall that burns attacking enemies (lasts for short time). Left Click on Ally: flares are attracted to ally's weapon and catch it on fire, causing additional fire damage and has a slight chance to catch enemy aflame (nothing happens if ally has no weapon). Right Click on Ally: Creates a fire wall around your ally (lasts for a short while). Freeze: LC: Shoot ray of ice. Causes enemies to freeze for a short while or causes floors to be slippery and make enemies fall(does not go away but after falling once, enemies will avoide or walk carfully over). LC then RC in midflight: Freezes the ray in midair and pressing the number keys (1-9) causes the ray to change into shapes of ice, from icicle to heavy block(changes in shape cost mana). Once created, the ice will fall and can be picked up, dropped on to, or rolled into enemies. RC: Creates a snow ball in your hand and can be thrown to cause damage, make unaware enemies fall, or have a chance to freeze foes for a few seconds. Right click to lightly toss (about three inches) in front of you. If dropped and rolled down a pathway or patch of ice, will grow in size (one patch: big enough to do large amounts of damage, two patches: big enough to knock enemies over, three patches: big enough to tangle enemies in and cause massive damage). LC on Ally: Encases the ally in ice, increaseing damage resistance but slowing movements(lasts for a short time). RC on Ally:n/a Adrenaline: LC: Increases size in ray, increases time enemies are frozen, and causes patch of ice to grow in direction fired. RC: Same as said before only objects are larger in size and can be thrown much like using telekinesis (can only be thrown once, otherwise, needs to be thrown). LC on Ally: A thicker layer of ice encases the ally and greatly improves damage resistance but slows movment (lasts a bit longer then normal). Fire Trap: LC: Same RC: Creates a trap that won't go off till you right click again. LC on Ally: n/a RC on Ally: n/a Adrenaline: LC: Traps do more damage and are larger in size, having a greater area of effect. Cast on enemies to stick the mine to them, causing them to explode after a short while. RC: Traps do more damage when set off and cause a larger area of effect. Cast on enemies to attach mine on them and right click again to cause them to explode. LC on Ally: Causes the mine to attach to the ally and if struck, the attached mine will explode, damaging the attacking and nearby enemies, without harming ally. RC on Ally: Attaches mine to ally and, when you right click again, explodes, hurting near by enemies without harming the ally. Lightning: LC: Same RC in midflight: Causes the ray of lightning to freeze in midair and form into a ball, hovering above the ground, striking nearby enemies, doing little damage but stunning the enemies briefly (lasts for about 10 sec). RC: Creates a lightning ball directly in front of the caster (10 sec duration). RC while Lightning is in Orb form: Orb travels back to caster and is absorbed into the caster's body, charging it with static electricity. Little lightning bolts will strike from the caster's body and slightly damage enemies, along with stunning them. LC on Ally: Charges ally's weapon with electricity, causing lightning damage, and has a chance to stun for a few sec. RC on Ally: Charges ally's body with electricity, causing little bolts of lightning to strike nearby enemies, doing little damage, but stunning enemies for short times. Adrenaline: LC: Same RC while in midflight: The orb is larger, but does same amount of damage and stunning power. The orb, however, now drags enemies closer to it and after the orb runs out (now 15 sec), it explodes in a massive electrical explosion, doing massive damage and stunning enemies for a certian amount of time, depending on how close they were from the orb. RC while Lightning is in Orb form: Orb returns to caster and charges their body with energy, dramaticly increasing walking, running, and attacking speed. RC: Creates an orb right in front of the caster. LC on Ally: Causes ally and their weapon to charge with energy, giving the weapon additional lightning damage, along with greatly increasing walking, running, and attacking speeds. RC on Ally: Charges ally's body, causing lighting bolts to strike nearby enemies from their body, along with increasing walking, running, and attacking speeds. B]Fireball:[/B] LC: Same RC while in midflight: Freezes ball in midair, then switching to target mode (same hand animation as priest's soulmark). Target five areas or targets and right click again to cause the orb to explode. Shards of flame will fly down to the targets one at a time, exploding on impact and doing average damage with a small area of effect. RC: Automaticlly sends up an orb above the head of the caster. The caster then chooses his targets again and the shards hit them one at a time. LC on ally: n/a RC on ally: Orb circles ally's head till an enemy approaches. It then explods and the shards either attack the one enemy, or randomly chosen enemies. Adrenaline: LC: Same RC while in mid flight: Same as above only shards hit targets all at once and do more damage in a bigger area of effect. RC: Same as above only the ball is automaticly cast above the caster's head. LC on Ally:n/a RC of Ally: Same as before only larger amounts of damage and area of effect. That is my lists of changes. I want to do the other magic tree, but I'll work on it later. If you want to add anything, quote this post and put your suggestion. If you think I should make a seperate post all together, suggest it and it will be done |

Please heed my words... The single player game is exactly that and although the story could use a beef-up & a conclusion in an expansion I really think that you guys should take into fact that the Dark Messiah multiplayer has a great potential to be something great ie perhaps a new game style type so you could actually buy/sell items? perhaps it could work in the single player as well. With the mass amount of items you accumulate in the single player I was almost certain that at some stage you would be able to 'freely roam' the city in order to buy and sell similar to that of the game "oblivion". It would be an excellent idea (in my opinion) to do this and simply put more depth into the game; this game which i finished in 2 days on HARD difficulty, even repeating some areas about 5-10 times because of the un-realistic damage of most creatures-- such as ghouls who kill you in 1-2hits, similar with the orcs. I don't know if its simply 'modern gamers' getting better at games to finish them more quickly or the fact that games like this are simply too short. This game really has a great potential and is truly unique however there are some things which let it down currently: *I have a Duel core P4 3.60GHz cpu, 2GB of DDR RAM & a geforce 6800GT yet my pc (on a fresh reinstall) struggles to play with the graphics turned up which only appilies to the multiplayer, odd that the single player runs far better. I propose that unisoft should release a patch which allows more control over the graphics engine so it will allow us to be able to control features such as decal limits. *The current difficulty for hard is insane in my opinion because almost everything on hard difficulty kills you in 1-2hits, even zombies. But then again its probably just me because after all it is hard difficulty! Please take into careful consideration of what I have said and please pass it onto others in your company to help formulate some new ideas for the future of this game. Cheers. |

Odd. My computer is a lot like yours yet it runs with flying colours. I can play multiplayer with 200 ping but not lag at all. (Sprint DSL). My specs are Dual Core 2.4 ghz processor, 2gb Ram (DDR), and a ATI Radeon x1900. Never had a problem

hmm.. from what I have read & by looking @ nvidia's site I have come to the conclusion that geforce cards are having performance problems such as memory leaking with this game; this will probably be fixed when the next set of drivers come out tho.
It runs well on your pc probably because you're using a radeon! Nvidia's drivers ATM cannot handle dark messiah for some reason! |

This isn't really an expansion, you're only listing MP Addons. What about SP? That's where its at
|
||||
|
question is were would the expansion begin because of the alternate endings?
would the expansion be like devil may cry beginning with his son/daughter or have differant choices of were to begin? |

The Humans in the game already are the 'demon' faction (although I'll bet they're worshippers of Ser'eth rather than dad). They just don't have access to chaos magic's. Personally I think that in general a lot could be done to make the sides less generic such as the ability to raise/play as demons and for the necromancers to raise the dead and perhaps play as Vampire Lords. |

I've got 2 ideas.
the first idea I had post it, it is can buy weapons in multiplayer mode. the other idea is can take and use vehicles (horses, dragons?, wild boar,...) it would be funny |
||||
|
i'm liking this idea,ive not tried multiplayer yet :ashamed:
but a buy weapons mode even for single player and ridable weapons would be awsome |

What a crime you have not tried Multi player Game yet!
I have played the demo,single player and a LOT the mutliplayer game and really like them all. Performance thoughts! Played the game twice! 1rst(prepurchased) with 9800 XT and 2*512MB Corsair DDR on 478 P4 Northwood @3.7Ghz and second time with 1 GB more ram and Radeon X1950 pro 512MB (AGP).1rst time around was quite rough with swapping but with enjoyable graphics.The second time however i had almost always more than 30 fps with almost everything maxed out. People in this post must realize how gfx bound is eye candy now days. In the multi player however a very decreased general performance but tweaks can be made in the settings to have it run smoothly by sacrificing some eye candy(i mean resolution, AA,AF etc). Both single and multi player games have very nice graphics and hope God Developers will make a sequel soon with DX10 with a multi core optimized CPU source engine or maybe a PhysX one?!! Single Player Thoughts Suggestions. Why did the skills could not be altered through the course of the game like in multi player(mouse2 on icons)?? A bit more skill points throughout the game would have been nicer. The feature that made you forge your own weapon in game was awesome sad it was a bit limited. To be able to use more materials,designs and spells in order to make a weapon would be cool in a next game. Add ons like was Opposing force and blue shift to Half Life would be a welcome. 2 could be made: one presuming you chose to have freed your father and another where you keep all the power for you. In any case you have not purged Xana !! It was refreshing to have an amusing an sexy companion to give u tips instead of an AI hologram...More spells, more skills, more weapons and more costumes as well. A sequel less linear maybe more like the Game oblivion an d S.T.A.L.K.E.R. It would be nice to navigate in Ashan! I realize this is a lot of work but i don't care if they use map of the 1rst game and incorporate the in one big Ashan with various towns and dungeons! Some side quests to lvl up enough to challenge or pass the next dungeon/key location to have the story unfold. Rides then would make sense. Multi Player Thoughts Suggestions. This game is like no other! It Owns! More maps (a Second Cruisade)More races, More Classes, More spell/skills. About Races/Classes Humans and Undead. How about a third ->DEMONS? Or maybe demon is just another Class With a balance between melee and range. To be more leathal than a assasin at close range but less than a warrior but being as fast as the priest. and to have various demonic spells or projectiles like a spear in his arsenal. Demonic however is the curse side of the priest so maybe the priest could summon rideable demons or minion to assist here and protect her Warrior How about granting him more weapon like an Axe or a 2 handed Sword? Skills to have magic,poison and cursed resistantce to his armor Assassin Give shuriken and katana? Diguise skill to imitate class skill so he does not appear always with a staff or generic weapon. Faint death improved so it can actually be useful? Faint death on impact or a faster animation an less mana drain? Deploy a trail of spikes that slows enemy like brambles in order to escape. Priest Please give her some more mana! Or a way to upgrade like the mage! Blind in its latest iteration could blind totally in a periodic fashion. Poison cloud could be larger to cover the brambles area in its latest iteration. Stone skin could petrify enemy for 3 sec but making the priest unable to perform any spell during that period. Summon Ridable demons or minions like a ghoul , zombie or to assist her or a team mate for a limited amount of time Archer He could have a meelee weapon like a hook or dagger but unable to wave it rapidly and skillfully like the assassin does. Or unable to perform a power attack with it. Mage. Mage could have more alignements like earth,wind /telekinesis an water. instead of having a single line in order to choose alignment he could have a circle divided in 4 parts with earth facing lightning and water facing fire.Water could come in different spells like rain cloud to extinguish team mates caught on fire or in wave fashion to wash out poison clouds or in jets slowing down enemy or creating a slippery surface where enemy falls if he runs when on it. earth spells could create a sand wall in order to block a passage or force an enemy to go round it or destroy it thus delaying him.he could create point of eating sand like in the desert and create earthquick tha make people close the the epicentre walk like if drunken for a limited amound of time or fall depending on their distance from the point chosen to create an earthquake and if mage is on adrenalin and affinity. Other spells from the singleplayer would be nice to have too like charm where enemy becomes a bot CPU controlled joining ur team for a limited amount of time. Not team killing XP is lost by the charmed or his team if they kill him. Regarding the costumes/ skins of the players i found it very disappointing to have just a collectors edition offering just a different warrior outfit. Players should be able to customize their character more. Assassin and warriors could create their own weapons in a forgery that is a controle point. with material like gold, silver or other magic and exotic stuff scatered around the campaign map or with the help of a mage/priest. Things like fire and lightning daggers. Controlling a capure point grants you a selection of weapons or spells!! |

People might think of a possible Expansion as out of the question but I think tapping into a certain Element of the story might just work
What if For example the story continues with a choice between Sareth whom had chosen to go demon but later rebeled against his father, and Leanna who was initially killed by Sareth but semi-ressurected by Arantir as an Undead with a personalty of her own Players could continue each story as Sareth travels homeward bound towards the city of Talonguard possibly seeking his Old master Phenrig to give him a loooong questioning and a big pummeling as for Leanna, well my theory is, have her able to shift into a "vampire" form where she can perform several stealth kill moves, though unlike Sareths Daemon form she is able to wield normal weapons aswell as useing her own tallents her story could take place as she flee's the destroyed city of Stonehelm now totally breaking apart around her, as she wakes up to find herself a bit, not so alive, with Arantir now trapped inside Leanna's body by sheer mistake, the two are forced to work in an unholy alliance as they travel to the wizards realm Possiblity?, Id say so as for multiplayer, Demon faction, yep, Orc Faction To fight them, also possible, you could make a new campaign mode pitting the orcs against the demons add a new class, the crusader, a faith based class that has a single special race only ability, such as a vampiric strike for undead, an exorcism spell for humans, enraging for orcs and possibly a demonic regeneration spell for demons Could it happen?, id say so, will it happen? thats the question aint it. Anyway, thats my little idea to contribute to Ubisoft, if they should ever choose to listen to it, not that i expect it to be listened to >_> |
||||

One possible idea is to make a series of maps that have a map loader at the end (like single player maps), that when triggered, everyone goes to the next map, thus creating a pseudo campaign mode. You could do races to see who gets to the end first, or you could do collaborative team work levels (also a mix of both). Just a concept, but it could work.

Actually that's a thought as someone already mentioned you could play as Leanne.
Think about it you're the infamous daughter of the cities leader a place flooded by necromancers... What do you thinks going to happen? She's going to come back as a Vampire...And you should be able to play as her. |

Make expansion look like real Migh & Magic: no strange undeads running loose ,but Necromancers . This game must not look like 'Arx Fatalis 2* ,but like at least somewhat M & M
