Simply set "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\hely1000" where you have "$SteamUserDir"
While you do this, open explorer to verify that the folders you are referring to actually exist in my GameConfig.txt I have set "DefaultPointEntity" "light" 'cause you will add more lights than player spawn points If you have no gameinfo.txt in your "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\hely1000\dark messiah might and magic multi-player" folder then create one and copy into it what's in page 5 of SDK.pdf. You surely have no gameinfo.txt or gameconfig.txt in "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\hely1000" 'cause that's the folder where all your steam games will reside...
I said: simply set "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\hely1000" where you have "$SteamUserDir", but I didn't say not to write what's after "$SteamUserDir" i.e. "\dark messiah might and magic multi-player"... Actually you can fool Hammer starting from HL2 or CS: select tools>options in Hammer, in Game Configuration select Edit>Add>Enter Dark Messiah or similar> OK>Close Select the name you added, the boxes below will empty. In Game Data Files first add: c:\program files\steam\steamapps\hely1000\dark messiah might and magic multi-player\cfg\base.fgd, then add c:\program files\steam\steamapps\hely1000\dark messiah might and magic multi-player\cfg\MightAndMagic.fgd. In Game Executable Directory add: c:\program files\steam\steamapps\hely1000\dark messiah might and magic multi-player\ In Game Directory add: c:\program files\steam\steamapps\hely1000\dark messiah might and magic multi-player\ In Hammer VMF Directory add: c:\program files\steam\steamapps\hely1000\dark messiah might and magic multi-player\mapsrc Then go to Build Programs (above) In configuration select the name you added. Hey again mate after the other woulndt work and i did what yo utold just described it wrong as my english is pretty bad.. but i tryed the "cheat" thing but then i pasted it all in and pressed apply after ok it wrote i had to restart hammer i did and then all the dark messiah setting were gone.. i mean in the option there could i add the dark messiah mp one now its gone in the list well its sure me there did anything but i decided i wont try this anyone as it gives me too many probs

Hammer is a real bad beast...
Once edited GameConfig.txt it's safer having a copy of it, so you can replace the default empty one, 'cause Hammer sometimes decide this way... Sadly, as I already said, this is just the beginning, you'll know what I mean when you'll start to compile your map... But carry on, my nephew (12 years old) plays with Hammer the same way as Lego and he's really enjoying the thing... |
