But when i extract the zip folder to dark messiah ordner, the ordners after mm do not exist: i mean /models/npc/. . . and so on
they just are in normal dmomam ordner... ill try again now...

Malacath2007, I tried your patch but it didn't work. The thing is, before unzipping, there was no "/models/" subdirectory under "/Dark Messiah of Might and Magic/mm/", so I have a hard time seeing how it even could work. I'm no game programmer, but if that directory never existed before, the game wouldn't be looking in there anyway, so how could your patch work?

The models directoy shouldn't be there befor extracting, the game first looks for the files in the mm-folder, if they are not there the game uses the orginal files packed in files called *.gcf. Look in your mm-folder there will be a models_pub.gcf or something like this. In this file is the model of the spider and the one of the ghoul. If you want to edit the models, you have to extract them into the right place and this is "Dark Messiah of Might and Magic\mm\models\npc\spider_regular"
befor extracting the folder "models" is not there. So just open my zip-file and extrct it to "...\Dark Messiah of Might and Magic\" and then the models-directoy should be there

Malacath2007 you rule!! It worked! Thank you soooo much. It's funny watching the ghouls twist their limbs in a weird way and scale the walls.

It turns out, the unzip location had to be "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\[name]\dark messiah might and magic single player\", and before I was using "C:\Program Files\Dark Messiah of Might and Magic\". It's weird how half the game was installed into the typical place, and the other half was put in the Steam directory.

I suppose there's 2 other spider models this patch doesn't affect: the small spiders and the giant spider boss. Right? But the medium-sized ones are definitely the biggest problem.

So, just a couple of problems with the download site...

It is in german, and the only things not in german are the adds. Also, of all the german links I could find I could find not one that resembled anything like a download.

I would be eternally grateful and kiss your shoes if you could rehost the file in a more english accesible location.

in my npc model directory there is no spider folder. but when i play the game they are still there. can anyone help? and there is no dark messiah folder in my steam directory. also can anyone fix the giant spider for me....

I get the creeps from the spiders in this game, really bad. Usually not a problem in other games, but when these damn things launch themselves at me I get crawly sensations all over as if I was seeing a real big creepy spider irl.

I already finished the game twice, but for the sake of replaying it rapidly on Hardcore id prefer not having the spiders to deal with every time and it sorta breaks the fun for me.

Sorry to get this old topic out again: But does anyone still have that patch? I had to reformat my comp a while ago and now those ugly creatures are in the game again. :x

I hate these spiders, too. I already fear spiders in real live, but in this game they so freaking huge and when they do their launch attack. I freaking screamed when I heard a spider and turned around in the same moment it jumped at me. So I be really thankful if some one give me a link to the mod.
