Ubisoft, get up off your butts and get to work!

I had Riflemen stationed at an Uplink defending it, and I was attacked by enemy Riflemen, who literally stormed in and secured the Uplink from me with my guys sitting right on top of it! Both our Riflemen were considered in cover because of being in close proximity to the Uplink, so he stole it from me with me being unable to kill him for some reason and ended up winning the game!

Shouldn't there be a way to prevent this? Such as riflemen at Uplinks doing more damage? It doesn't seem right to be that if an Uplink is fortified by your troops that the enemy is simply able to walk up and take if from you.

Therefore, infantry should not be able to capture an Uplink secured by enemy forces if enemy infantry are taking cover at that Uplink. They should be required to engage and eliminate the enemy infantry first, just as they would other forms of fortifications for Uplinks, such as Drones.

And the fact that Riflemen have no close-quarter fighting capabilities really ****es me off! I want to see troops throwing the hell down if they're nose-to-nose with each other!

Were your rilemen on opposite sides of the uplink? I had my guys at the back, just so they were out of sight so I could sneak attack any enemy that got close or hid if I needed to. An enemy rifemen comes up to secure the uplink. I waited until they got in close then told my guys to attack when they were capping. My guys didn't actually move, or start firing but they were doing damage, the enemy was doing the same thing. It was really weird when they didn't get the uplink and both riflemen knocked each other out.

This has been an issue. Not many people raise it because most things are falling on deaf ears anyway. It is stupid if they storm the same entrance that riflemen, or even engineers are guarding. I can see it happening if they went in the other entrance. I believe promoted infantry can run past lower ranking defending infantry.

which is crap regardless. i had a guy hard-charge the same uplink wall being protected by my infantry, he got through, then him being inside the uplink structure itself counted as cover, so i couldnt kill him!

explain that to me!

I don't know wtf you are talking about. I have played all 3 factions and I utilize Rifleman consitently. Any time you have rifleman at the uplink and under "cover" they will beat the attacking rifleman regardless of rank on either side.

They may be able to secure the uplink but you can recapture once they are incap.

If your Rifleman are loosing you were not in cover or you move them out of cover or you are doing something wrong.

I played today and noticed it. Had legendary infantry stationed on one of my uplinks and the enemy just stormed in and took it, got it back with the infantry and one chopper though. But it's really frustrating having to tell your infantry to attack the enemy.

if i ever deepstrike the only time i lose to the riflemen stationed there is if mine deploy out side the uplink barrier if i deploy inside i always win but that prolly because my battalion has enhanced riflemen
