BUG: Xbox 360, TOW, Chattanooga, playing as JSF
Hi there, I know, the list of things that need fixing is long. Here's one that bugs me in particular: deepstriking riflemen getting stuck on delta and sierra on Chattanooga and its clone maps. This is what happens (JSF, one of the two): 1. riflemen are flown into delta/sierra and fastrope. The deploying heli does not fly off though but stays, ropes down. The unit is shown as deploying and won't answer to any order given. If this happens, you lose a unit and the uplink. 2. riflemen are deployed correctly and are issued the command to secure delta or sierra. They move into the uplink but never capture it. Again - this unit and the uplink are lost. Reproducability: I can't do it ... all I know is I played 6 games today, half the time my riflemen got stuck on sierra. I have never seen it happen on any other map nor with any other uplink. My opponents from EFEC or SPZ also tell me they never experienced this problem. As far as I can tell, losses before the three-minute-mark (this happens at 1:50) are not counted as such. So at least I am not screwing up my record. I'd be happy about anything that helps here. Results of skirmish.
Settings: 360, Brenner-Pass, JSF attacks, weidhase (XBL), always deepstriking both sierra and delta (in that order). Game 1: bug occured on sierra, not on delta. (replay online) Game 2: bug occured on sierra, not on delta. Game 3: bug did NOT occur on sierra, guys on delta disembarked fine but failed to capture it (bug type 2). Game 4: bug did NOT occur on sierra (I have an idea ... more later), same as game 3 ... guys at delta fail to capture the uplink. It seems (not enough games played to validate yet) that the sierra-disembarking-bug does NOT occur if you call in the riflemen AFTER you have 10 cp. I usually call them in short before I get the cps for capturing alpha and issue the "move to" command once I have the cps Game 5: called in the riflemen BEFORE I had the necessary cps, bug on sierra and riflemen deepstriking delta fail to capture. Game 6: calling in riflemen AFTER I have 10 cps, sierra works fine, delta still has bug #2 :-(. I think I have the sierra-bug under control (will let you know if the bug reoccurs even though the riflemen are called in "late"). Game 7 attacking with EFEC (just to make sure), calling in riflemen to deepstrike sierra "early": oops. EFEC suffers from the same bug. Helo stays at sierra and riflemen die after a few minutes. Delta-bug type 2 also happens. Last test - game 8 - trying with JSF as defender, deepstriking delta early and sierra (in that order): the usual sierra-bug occurs on delta as well. Something new on sierra ... not bug #2 but bug #1 occurs (fail to disembark). I think this clearly shows the bugs are reproducable (even in skirmish). I ask the developers and any player who would like to help out to try this setup on their own. It's a bug, it needs fixing. For now, the workaround of calling in the first deepstrike only AFTER you get the cps (and not shortly before) will work for me. something similar to this happened to me on maxwell... but in reverse. I was evacuating riflemen but the helicopter got "stuck" and wouldn't evac. My guys were basically invincible and couldnt die nor evac, but still could shoot. They were red bar health so I was worried, but nothing happened. I kept trying to evac about 5 times on those units. Yet they stayed there until the other team quit.

Yeah, I've experienced a glitch here and there, but these map-bugs are reproducable and occur almost EVERY time.

These same bugs happen on Pamlico/Arribida at Alfa and have had the same bugs on Chattanooga like discribed. This is the most annoying bug of the game. Your units get stuck and you end up loosing the battle because of it.
I have units get stuck on Pamlica/Arribida from the defending side. The unit is ordered to Foxtrot and when moving there it gets stuck. Then becomes a sitting duck and nolonger responds to my commands. |
