hi, i get strange sounds when playing the game, making it pretty much unplayable. i have tried different soundcard drivers,changed hardware acceleration, tried headphones instead of speakers, also re-installed the game and xp.
these sounds seem worse when the menu screen and briefing screens appear.

i can hear both the normal sounds, but the other sound over the top, like interference, with a slight echo. i tried disabling eax etc on my soundcard. i have waited so long to play this game.

This problem can usually be resolved on Windows XP by clicking on the Sound Tab of the DirectX Diagnostic and changing the Hardware Acceleration to Standard.

still the same, even tried disabling the music in DX

Unhook any mics, headsets, webcams...etc from the system. See if there is a difference.

If you have an onboard sound card, make sure it is disabled in the motherboard BIOS. It HAS to be disabled in the BIOS.

If these fail, contact support so we can take a look at more system information (system information not safe to paste on a forum).

i have tried that also. i checked my 5.1 speakers, unplugged them. tried headphones instead.
xp has recently been re-installed.
this problem only happens with this game.

sound problem is fixed kind of. not the game causing the problem. i tried my onboard Realtek 5.1, and the sound is fine without any noise or static. also left my audigy 4 installed but disabled.
