I have a problem 90% of the times I start the game. After the intro, it gets stuck just before appearing the menu options and a few seconds later I hear an error noise from windows. I make ALT-TAB and there is an error window saying "Cannot initialize OLE". Then, I can actually continue the game but it has no sound.

Any thoughts on this? What could it be?
By the way, I have Vista.

They are up to date... my hp laptop runs a program that updates drivers every week.

You mean NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS is not supported? It's such a common graphics card...
You really think that is the cause? If so it should fail always, and not only sometimes, no?

If that, in fact that is the cause, do you think UBI's updates will cover the issue with cards like mine anytime soon?

Your drivers are out of date, there are later drivers for your video chipset and sound chipset available.

The 8600M is not so common (Mobile is the M). There is a difference between the Geforce 8600M laptop chipset found on laptops and the Geforce 8600 video card you will find on a desktop PC.

More than likely there will be no patch to make laptop chipsets supported. This assumption is based off past title launches, but I cannot conclude this will be the case since anything is possible in the future.
