Hey Ubisoft. Great game - There's just several problems that I've run into in the first 8 games I've played as JSF.
1) Lag Every other game, the game runs at half speed. I suspect this has something to do with the graphics settings of the other player. I've had a 2on2 where when one player left, the game jumped up to normal speed. 2) Stats on ToW The stats on the ingame ToW display do not work for me. At all. Personal battle stats don't show for any maps, and I have to use the website to see the balance of power on each map. 3) Raid on Ramstein Forces balance This has happened twice, and is incredibly frustrating. I'll join a 2 on 2 match, only to have my ally drop, and replaced with a computer AI. Yet somehow, the other team will have THREE players, and I'm alone with 6 units. Both matches, I was utterly annihilated within five minutes because I was overwhelmed very rapidly. Also, in these matches, all captured uplinks were GREEN, instead of blue or yellow. 4)Minor - Loss of battle stats for one Grissom battle After my first loss at Grissom, I earned roughly 40,000 command points and had a unit level up. As of five hours after the battle, I still have not received this bonuses. I understand 1,2, and 4 are minor issues, but 3 is a severe break of the game, especially since it's happened multiple times. If anybody else has encountered these issues, please post and verify. come on Ubi, talk to me. At least let me know you're looking. I got more issues to report, by the way.
5) Minor: loading/unloading units with transports. At the beginning of a match, in the rush to push units to the front, I have both engies and transport selected. I tell engies to get in the trasnport. They do. I click to move them, and the engies insist on getting back out, wasting precious time. 6) Major Chatting bugs This has been happening very often. On a team, things will break so that one guy can only type, while the other guy can only speak. Oftentimes, communications will utterly fail. May possibly be related to lag. 7) LAG **IMPORTANT: 2V2 LAG SPECIFIC, rare in 1v1** Lag is becoming crippling in matches. Matches that should last 15 minutes of in game time are instead taking 45 minutes to complete. Lag seems to screw with orders, and unit response time. It also makes it harder to respond to changing situations since the camera turns veeeery slowly under lag. 8) Pathfinding doesn't make sense There are times where units will insist on driving all the way around an obstacle instead of straight by it. See diagram: T T___UUUU T___UUUU ____UUUU ____T T's are individual transport vehicles, U's represent an uplink. When ordered to move NW, the transports, instead of continuing past the Uplink, decided to drive backwards, counterclockwise around the Uplink, and THEN northwest. Similar pathing issues arise in tight quarters. EDIT 9) Interface Lag After completing a match ,I will be taken back to the series of main menu interfaces - but everything happens at half speed. Somehow, the interface itself lags, but the problem goes away if I restart the game. Irritating because it makes everything take longer. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Dougem, |

ive played a dozen games, and never noticed anything remotely resembling lag?
might be your computerspeed / internetspeed |

I'm not sure. whatever it is, it's highly variable - I have a good computer, I have my graphics turned down, and my single player runs like a charm. However, online, it's very mixed - some matches will be perfectly smooth, while others will become highly mucked down. It seems to depend upon who I'm playing. I've talked with other players and lag has been a problem for them as well. EDIT: My graphics are currently turned down to the lowest possible, maintaining resolution. I have had smooth games before, and other online games I play do not seem to have this crippling lag problem This message has been edited. Last edited by: Dougem, |
