Hey Guys,
We've put together a short FAQ on some of the issues that have been cropping up here. We'll add to this as more questions come up. Thanks. EndWar PC FAQ Q: Why does the game keep crashing at the intro? A: If you install the game in a folder with a point/period (for example “C:\endwar.pc\”) the game will crash at the opening intro. To remedy this, please reinstall the game in a directory without a point/period in its name. *UPDATE* - You should also avoid using any symbols in your install directory. It's best to stick with letters and numbers only. Q: When I try to log into the Theater of War I get a message saying “Your local network connection is not available”, what’s up? A: This can be due to many issues, include but not limited to these: Net cable isn’t plugged, a problem with your ISP, Windows firewall is blocking the game, the firewall of router is blocking the game. Please note that Port 3074 (support both incoming and outgoing) needs to be open on any firewall (windows or router). This one is vital. Q: I’m running the 64-bit version of Windows XP and EndWar keeps crashing. A: We do not recommend running EndWar PC on the 64-bit version of Windows XP. However, a fix is on the way to improve its stability under this operating system. Q: I can’t get EndWar to go into 1280x768. A: EndWar supports the following aspect ratios: 4:3, 5:4 16:9, 16:10 15:9 aspect ratios are not supported. 1280x768 is 15:9. If you have a 1280x768 monitor we suggest you use 1280x720. Q: Is there a technical support website for EndWar? A: Go to http://www.ubi.com/us/support/ for support on all Ubisoft products. Q: What Internet ports need to be opened for EndWar? A: The game requires the following ports to be open in your router or firewall: (From page 17 in the game manual) UDP: 1187 3478 3479 3658 TCP: 80 443 3478 3479 3480 5233 8080 This message has been edited.
