It seems a few of our EndWar PS3 owners are having problems with the Sony Official PS3 Bluetooth Headset.

Thank you for your concerns about us. I have been looking online for the past 3 days for a solution. It seems to me that the issue comes from the PS3 headset itself and not from the game: my other headset (Motorola H505) works fine volume-wise, but my PS3 headset is always too low.
There are 2 ways to connect the official headset to a ps3 (as read in the official PS3 Bluetooth Headset manual): Automatic mode You must use the USB cable to pair your headset using the PS3™ system automatic mode. 1 Check that the PS3™ system is turned on. 2 Check that the PS3™ system software is version 2.50 or later. If you have an earlier version, you need to update the software before you can use the automatic mode for pairing. 3 Insert the mini-B connector of the supplied USB cable directly into the USB connector on your headset. Insert the other end of the cable into a USB connector on the PS3™ system. The power indicator on the headset lights up in solid green for two seconds to indicate that the headset and the PS3™ system have been paired. Bluetooth® discovery mode (similar to your post) 1 Check that the PS3™ system is turned on. 2 Press and hold down the power button on the headset until the power and mic muting indicators flash alternately in green and red, indicating that the headset is in Bluetooth® discovery mode. 3 In your PS3™ system's home menu, go to [Settings] > [Accessory Settings] > [Manage Bluetooth® Devices]. 4 Select [Yes] to pair (register) the headset with the PS3™ system. 5 Select [Start Scanning]. The PS3™ system scans for the headset, and displays a list of all Bluetooth® devices within range. 6 Select "Wireless Headset". When prompted for a pass key, enter "0000". Your headset is now paired with the PS3™ system. "Bluetooth® discovery mode" is the one that works fine (for me at least); the drawbacks are that you don't have access anymore to the "advanced features" of the ps3 headset: "¢ User Action Indicators on your monitor "¢ Notifications of headset status on your PS3™ system's TV monitor "¢ High-Quality (HQ) Mode "¢ Desktop Mic Mode "¢ Low battery warning I also read some threads where people (using "Automatic mode" pairing) said that they skipped the voice trainer (since it didn't pick up their voice) but their orders were well received during a game session (Campaign, Theater of War, etc.). I tried that and it seems to work too; but I personally the 2nd pairing method, for it allows me to be really quiet while playing the game. I still have voice recognition problem for Unit 6, Air Strike, SITREP and a few others; being a native french speaker, I change my system language to French and I can play the game almost flawlessly; but it's sometimes awkward to give orders in one language and speak to your teammate in another (2 vs 2 online); plus I like the english military terms better ^_^. but that's another topic. I hope it will help my fellow ps3 owners. |

PS3 camera works brilliantly for your voice

Hi,
I'm a UK PS3 owner and I dont know if anyone else has this issue... but voice commands do not seem to work for the numbers "7" and "11". Well not for me anyway! Other than that the offical headset is great! |

|
im having the same problem the mic is not responding to my voice!!
|
||||
|
I found that 'Foxtrot' was almost impossible for the command module to understand. I'm a native english speaker (meaning I have a non queens english or american accent). A training mode to retrain the recognition of words that are problematic would be brilliant.

Hi, I have the official PS3 headset, it paired fine, volume is ok, meter indicates mic is working, but when I used the voice trainer, it is ok until after asking for your name. It recognized my name, then goes to 10% training complete, asks me to repeat command "unit 1 bravo etc. and it always says "command not recognized". I have tried holding the r2 button longer before and after speaking, I have tried speaking lighter, louder, softer, nothing works to get the trainer to go to 20% or even get through the voice trainer. Any suggestions? My ps3 has the lastest update 2.52. Thanks

ANY headset works with EndWar. I personally have the Motorola H505; it works well with the game. I just bought the PS3 headset as it was coming in a bundle and I didn't want to pair my Motorola back and forth between cellphone and PS3 |

Just bought the game today (Dec. 24), and I seem to be having the same problem with the Sony bluetooth headset. I recieved the headset with my copy of Socom confrontation so I figured it would work with this game. The mic works, but I can't get the volume high enough for the trainer to recognize it (I can't get my ear any closer to my mouth
Thanks in advance. |

i plan on putting this comment in as many technical support threads as possible in the time that i have. i am sick of this game now after loving it even with all the issues in the game that have still gone unfixxed since its release. for the past 4 days i have had units get kia'd in a game where there is an AI commander which is fine but the thing that is out of whack and completely f'd up is that the KIA's count. but the money, and the unit promotions dont? that is the biggest corck of bull ive ever heard of and it has comepletely ruined the game hell in most cases it was my team that had the AI commander i mean if u can win a match with the AI on ur side that should be an achievement but no instead what ubisoft is saying is that when u see ur playing with or against an AI u might as well quit because uve got nothing to gain and evetything to lose u can lost units forever but u cant get money or promotions and that there friends is bull beyond beliefe and the fact that u cant have a persistant battallion offline in skirmish mode is also bull n skirmish is the only mode i will play until there is something done about this issue im sick of my units being able to get kia'd but not promoted it is not fair the money me personally i dont give a load about cause i have over 8 mill in reserves but i have lost hardened units and i have been withheld from 1star units and command vehicle promotions and other units so much i have it in my mind to tell everyone i know NOT to buy this game and im almost to the point of returning the game and getting 20$ for the game and putting that 20$ towards another game ANY OTHER GAME unless something is done cause this is bull

Well, I Messaged two moderators and have made its own post, and also posted in other forums about this, and I haven't gotten an answer. A simple, "do this this and this..." or "you can't, that's impossible" will be sufficient.
Can you set up a bluetooth the same as you can the XBox headset, so when you talk to your units, their responses come through the headset, not the TV speakers? EX: "Unit 1 move to foxtrot" unit (through headset): "yes commander" Possible or not? |

I'm with his guy. Most of my friends ask me before buying their games, and believe me I will steer them all clear of this box of crap. I also plan on posting as all the reviews I can to keep anybody else from wasting their money. |

Why are you people flaming in this thread, the topic is about a headset not even made by ubisoft, and also is the best mono headest I've used.

I have been wondering the same thing too. |

Nidole, Thanks for your post. I bought a Plantronics headset that left and right headphones. I did the paring and the setup you suggested above. In fact the test that you indicated, the sound from it comes through the headphones. When I go to Endwar there is bo sound. Any suggestions? idmnstr2@comcast.net |
