On the 360 i get the building secure but can't the troops to set the mines. I hit y set but nothing works.

What does a building have to do with land mines?

You have to have engineers of the popper rank with the upgrade purchased, and you have to select a flat piece of land.

Ok, first you have to purchase the upgrades in the barracks.

Second, you have to have regular engineers or higher.

Third, you have to point the cursor at the ground until you see "Y, Plant Minefield".

Push Y, then it will say "A, Plant Minefield."

Move the cursor around until you find where you want the minefield to go, then press A.

Your engineers will move to that spot and plant the engineers in the ground.

You cannot plant minefields on the hardened concrete of the uplinks. It has to be on soil, or road. I've planted them on bridges, too.

You can use this ability once every 30 seconds. In order to make it more efficient, move the engineers to the next area you want to place mines right after they are done planting their current minefield.

That way, by the time they get to their next site, they should be ready to plant more mines...

Oh, BTW, mines will be triggered by air strikes, as well. Maybe by artillery, but I'm not sure...

Yes, artillery can clear minefields. Good writeup, btw.
