This has happened several times before.
In a 4 vs. 4, if an opponent quits/disconnects/dashboards/otherwise does not make it from the lobby to the battlefield, that battle will not count towards the players' leaderboards or barracks tracker and the only units to receive credit for fighting the battle are those which are initially deployed. I just fought a 4 vs. 4 on Carpathia, and an opponent didn't make it to the field before the battle began. When I checked my leaderboards afterwards, they were not updated. When I checked my barracks, only the unit which I deployed to open received +1 to their battles fought; no one received kills or battles fought, and the tracker for battles, hostiles, and victories didn't update either. Only the territory tracker (which is cleared every turn) recorded a victory. Please...you know what? Asking these people to fix this is like talking to a brick wall! -- EA Apologizes Ubisoft Shanghai's Mailing Address Shanghai (Studio) 13F & 15F, The Center 989 Chang Le Road Shanghai 200031 Tel: +86 21 5407 5666 Fax: +86 21 5407 5156 |

This is most likely due to the buggy 3-minute rule, and the well-known glitch where having an AI commander present in the first 3 minutes essentially voids the game for anything but KIAs.
It drives me crazy to have to play a 20 minute game where no promotions will be awarded, but my units may be killed, just so that I don't have to take a loss in the leaderboards. Unfortunately, that's the way the game currently works, and the developers have made it clear they have no intention of fixing it. You have to decide for yourself what's most important to you as a player: leaderboards, promotions, or playing time. In a perfect world, you wouldn't have to make those choices, but you do in Endwar. *shrug* |

oh yea reminds of an idea i tohught up a while back well when a guy leaves and the ai takes over his units how about if the ai gets his units killed they are actually killed for the guy who left and since ais suck this will generally be a bad thing for the guy who left

This is a terrible idea, largely because there are too many server and network problems that would cause innocent people to be punished. Do you really want to lose units just because the buggy Endwar servers drop your connection, or because you lag out of XBL for any reason? Of course not. I think the real solution is to ensure that people who *don't* drop get victories and promotions, rather than losing out because someone on the other side drops. I'm not even sure if it's even technically feasible to differentiate between lag, server errors, and dashboarding--I can think of several methods, but doubt that XBL or Ubisoft have implemented any of them--but if there is, I'd be all for penalizing dashboarders. As it is, I think that they all currently look the same from the Endwar servers' perspective. |
