He saw Legget doing this in boot camp right? so that could have been in 1942, 1943 then 1944 (Dday in june and Market Garden in September) Correct me if im wrong but i think thats when training started. They could have been training in 1942 so ol' matty boy would only have been 23, by the time of Market Garden or in fact Dday he would have been 25.
