Basically, i need to be convinced to switch from Call of Duty to Hell's highway.
I've never played any brothers in arms games, but from what ive heard and seen (videos) they're amazing.
So when call of duty 4 and hells highway are released, why should i go for hells highway?

Also, this is slightly weird, but dont you think soliders losing limbs in hells highway would be a good feature? make it more realistic etc (i've just watched saving private ryan, thats why im asking)

also, having never played any brothers in arms games, will i understand the plot/story/characters?

It would really help if you play the other games. In Hell's Highway there will be flashbacks in which if you never played the first games, you won't understand. All of the games are connected unlike Call of Duty so you really get to know your squad(the ones who are still alive). So I don't think you should play this game without even playing the other games or else most of the game will not make complete sense to you.My advice is either go out and buy or rent the other games and just play it on easy if you have to just to get the storylines and then get Hell's Highway when it comes out or if you don't want to do that just play Call of Duty 4 which also looks great.

I loved Call of Duty 1 and 2, but compared to BIA CoD is bad in my opinion. The AI in BIA is awsome, each time you play it something different happens, you actually comand your squad and you get to know them, the story is awsome and the gamply too. I would recomend you to get BIA HH

I still don't think that anyone should play the game without knowing the stories behind it.

i see where your coming from. weirdly enough i've found that every character in all of the brothers in arms has alot of detail written about them on wikipedia.
its not the same and i dont have the time or money to play throgh the others. so i suppose thats my only option!
thanks!

Ok, well, I'll take a shot at this too.

First off, it all depends on your gaming style. A person who loves the simple run and gun, shoot 'em up games will NOT like BIA. BIA is strictly a squad tactics game with not a lot of run up and shoot your face gameplay.
Also, do you like realistic games with lots of authentic behavior, or just the normal FPS experience with everything simple and user-friendly? BIA is a little restricting in a sense that you can not just tool around doing everything you want, picking up healthpacks along the way. BIA can get very difficult on longer missions, requiring you to lay back and think out your attacks, because if not, you will die and have to restart the entire mission.
Along with that, comes the multiplayer. The multiplayer in the past BIA games have been very lacking, IMO. As much of a fan I am, I admit that when I look for a fun multiplayer time, I would much rather start up Red Orchestra than play a round with 1 person on BIA. I am sure BIA number 3 will be a lot better, but if your style of gaming is a fast paced fun-time shooter, this game is not for you.
