The trick to the two mile, is when the gun goes off, run really really fast for about 3000 meters or so, and then finish it off in a sprint, it works wonders!

Yeah, I cannot wait for a demo. I hope they release it ahead of the game, because it gives it good PR and also lets players really see and play what will be on store shelves. I think it's always a good idea to have a demo out early before release (not too early, however).
