I love the brothers in arms games but I was wondering if anyone knew if there is going to be a way to turn on some kind of language filter for the game. From playing the first two games I'm sure there is going to be alot of profanity and I can't believe there was not filter in the first games. It is hard to play the game around a younger child if you don't want them to hear the language. I would think they could add a filter just like some games in the past have added a filter to blood.

I think they will but that's also one of the things that drives the series is the one thing MoH and COD don't have is,of course,explicit language and gore,which is the real brutality of war.

I appreciate that real war has its profanity and gore, but that's why i'm playing on a console and not out there in iraq doing the real thing. I honestly don't mind the gore but you don't have to use profanity to express that you're pissed. Even if you disagree, let us decide if we want it or not. (it would also go over better with mom- who throws away any m rated games she finds in the house)

Lighten up a little Hartsox. What is wrong with giving people a choice? If someone does not want to listen to profanity, or want to see blood, but still enjoys the challenge of a great FPS / strategy game and is paying $60 clams to boot, they should have a choice to play the game the way they like, not the way youyou like.
I would think, with your background, you would be a little more open minded than most...

Its a war...

Here's the way I see it. You want a profanity filter because the language will poisen your children's minds. I believe that your priorities are way out of wack. The objective of the game is to KILL other people. If I were you I wouldn't worry too much about the language, but take into account the violence involved here. There will be shooting, there will be screaming, there will be lame bodies dropping to the ground. I am a soldier myself, I've been to Iraq and Afghanistan. Profanity comes with war just as much as the death an destuction (the overlooked child mindf#$@.) I applaud the writers for the added realism.

I hope there is going to be a language filter in it because when i am playing or rth 30 or eib upstairs and my father is coming he always complains about the bad language and sais that i am not supose to play those games with that language as a christian

Perhaps Nano does not understand what a filter is, or what the word option means.
There is nothing wrong in wanting a choice; we are consumers and customers, and the producer of a product wants to please his customer base.
So, giving customers options - or choices - makes good sense. Our preference for not wanting to hear the Lord's name used in vain, for the sake of "authenticity" - in a video game no less - should not be a problem for anyone. It does not take away from your experience playing without the filter, and it adds to ours playing with the filter.
Quite simple really.

i dont think Gearbox is going to puss out an put in a filter,i think they want to make it their way, besides not like GOD can do anything about it the lord is a panzy
