What system are you on? Because multiplayer is known to be quite laggy. I'm on PS3 and haven't noticed too many problems, but XBox360 people are constantly complaining about the lag.

Actually, everyone taking the game seriously as a competitive game is, but it's noticed by casual gamers slightly moreso on 360 from what I've seen.

And you CAN player head-to-head splitscreen... But I can't vouce for how well it works, because I don't have any local opponents.
