Hi there
Im not sure about the game BIA:HH, but during operation Market Garden US Paratroopers have used both types of boots. One you know from 2 previous games, photos and so on. The M42 Jump Boots: and here M43 boots: Here is the reason why this happened: "(...)jump boots had been recalled and M43's had not yet been issued, resulting in the ugly mix of M42's and combat boots." (quote from 101airborneww2.com) Im pretty sure about who got issued M43 boots - the replacements [see chapter "replacement" in band of brothers]. Hope that help you. |

Hi
Yeah I guess that some of them could exchange their M-42 Jump Boots to M-43. |

Band of Brothers isn't real ww2 footage guys..
By operation markey garden, the airborne troops were given m43 double buckle boots and were told to turn in their jumpers, but a lot of troops instead kept both pairs, and saved the jumpers for class A use. They really liked the "DB" boots because of the fact that they didn't need to shine them, so a lot of soldiers preferred them over the jumpers. Then again, many were kept as status symbols... In the end, you saw a huge mix of DB's and jump boots from market garden til' VE day. I believe they are using the m43 DB boots in HH, I'll look at some videos to make sure. -M1 |
